This cottage pedestrian gate is mounted between block pillars with fence panels manufactured from matching radius palings (refer page 10 of this catalogue for a full range of palings and capping rails). This Homestyle gate is hung between 100x100 posts and has been finished with a warm coloured stain, giving excellent privacy to a back yard. Pedestrian gate, 1250mm high, 1000 or 1500mm wide. 5 Hardware FITTING GUIDE 1. Check that your posts are firm and plumb. They should be mm into the ground. We recommend a minimum of ex100x100mm Fentec Laminated Posts for pedestrian gates and a minimum of ex 150x150 Fentec Laminated Posts for double driveway gates. Suitable for Pedestrian Gates Suitable for Pedestrian Gates 2. Fit strap hinges to the vertical center of your top and bottom rails. See drawings below left for the distances from the edge of the gate. The hinge straps have slots for levelling and clearance adjustment. Drill the holes for the bolts in the centre of these slots. NOTE: The eye of the hinge strap has a selflubricating nylon bush. Ensure that the bush sits between the hinge strap and the gudgeon. Suitable for Pedestrian Gates 3. a) Select the post on the high side of your driveway (either side for pedestrian gates). b) Set up the height of your top gudgeon allowing desired clearance under your gate. c) Position the top gudgeon 10mm from the back edge of the post and attach with 65 mm Tek screws. d) For double gates: Level the gudgeon position across to the opposite post and repeat (b) and (c) above. Suitable for Pedestrian Gates 15mm gap between post & edge of gate 15mm gap between post & edge of gate 4. a) Drop gate onto top gudgeon. b) Attach bottom plate gudgeon with 2 of the 65mm Tek screws supplied, to allow for later adjustment. Make sure it is plumb below the top gudgeon. c) For double gates, repeat (a) and (b) above on the opposite side. 1030mm post to post Place outside of hinge 5mm in from edge of gate. 1030mm post to post 65mm from outside of hinge to edge of gate. 5. a) Level your gates by loosening the bolts and sliding the gate, check clearance in the middle at the same time. b) Adjust the winding between the gates (to ensure gates are flush and parallel when closed) by moving the bottom plate gudgeons sideways. Then affix bottom plate gudgeon in final position with all 4 screws. 6. Fit cane bolts, pad bolts or snap latches to the inside of each gate. 5

9 Post Caps & Tops Classic tops are fixed to the tops of 100x75mm or 100x100mm posts with the Plain & Pyramid also being available for 125x125mm & 150x150mm posts. Plain Pyramid Dome This picket fence line has been enhanced by the addition of the Classic Plain post top. Post Head Ball Acorn The moulding of Replica Caps is mitred around the top of the post and can be custom made to fit different sized posts. 45 SERIES Made to suit 100x75 to 200x200mm posts. Plain Pyramid Ball Acorn 45mm This fence has been installed with Ex150x150 laminated posts and the Replcia Plain post caps. 90 SERIES Made to suit 125x125 to 400x400mm posts. 90mm Plain Pyramid Ball Acorn The moulding of Contemporary Caps is mitred around the top of the post and can be custom made to fit different sized posts.
