Thanks to innovative production methods such as the PQF technology (Premium Quality Finishing) and high-tech systems like CARTA, wall thicknesses can be set with the very closest tolerances. WELDED TUBE PLANTS FOR TUBES UP TO 26" Whether welded tubes for the automotive sector, for the oil and gas industry or for the building sector HF welded tube plants from SMS group are designed exactly to meet the individual demands of the respective finished products. In a continuous process, tubes are produced from coiled steel strip. The coils are unwound and welded together to form a continuous strip. In the subsequent processes and at a constant process speed, the strip is formed into tubes, welded longitudinally using the inductive HF welding process, sized and cut into finished tube lengths. LARGE-DIAMETER PIPE PLANTS 16" 64" There are three production methods for the manufacture of high-quality longitudinally welded largediameter pipes such as those used for pipelines; these methods take their names from the pipe forming process employed: 3-roll bending machines, U-ing and O-ing presses and JCO pipe forming presses.
