1 Connected McGraw-Hill My Math Mobile App Billie s Quick Start Guide You have the flexibility of viewing the student math journal or lesson plans from the teacher edition. *Lessons plans from the teacher edition contain the same information you see when you launch the presentation from To get started with having students use their digital math journal, download the free Connected McGraw-Hill Mobile app on each student ipad. You will need to create an account for each student and assign each child a username and password. Tap the TOC (Table of Contents) icon in the lower left hand corner to quickly find each day s lesson. You can also tap anywhere on the page to make thumb nail sketches of subsequent journal pages appear. You can use your finger to scroll through the pages. *Using the table of contents feature is a much faster way for students to find their lesson.

Did you know that you have the ability to digitally check in with students working independently during your math time? Select the student review button to view student pages and evaluate their work before they spend a lot of time practicing something incorrectly. After clicking the student review button, you will be prompted to select your class.

3 Next, tap on the student account that you would like to check. Viola! You can check each student s work from your teacher ipad. Cool, huh?! *After contacting McGraw-Hill s technical support, they said that the teacher review should be used with a PC or laptop. My coworkers and I tested it out with our ipads and we could view the student journal page (illustrated to the left) but we were unable to write any comments on it for the student to see. Here is what McGraw-Hill says to do so that you can write comments on student pages that they can see. login at Click cover of the My Math Student Edition Click "open ebook" Locate the student review button in the lower right corner of page Slide button to "on" Locate drop down menu at the top left of page Select class from drop down Select student from drop down menu Use option at center bottom of the page, to tab to, or enter the page (number) you wish to review. You may enable the writing tool in the upper right corner of the page, to write comments the student will see.

4 Zoom In Double Tap Zoom out Once zoomed in, double tap again. Write Tap the pencil and then choose your pen color. Erase Tap clear to erase the entire page. To erase a small piece of writing, tap undo and then tap the letter or number that you want to erase. Save your writing Tap done before moving on to another page or before moving the ipad and changing the orientation. Forgetting to do this will result in lost/deleted work.

5 To set up student accounts and assign content Do you need to set up an account and assign content for each of the students in your class? First sign in to Then, select import students on the right. Next, you will be prompted to download a student template (an excel spreadsheet file) that contains spaces to enter student names, usernames, and passwords. After completing the process, you will need to select check file for errors before uploading the file to the McGraw-Hill website. You are now ready to assign content to each student in your class!
