OUR NAME EPO 2 stands for Expertise-, Personnel- & Organisation Development (in Dutch: Ontwikkeling) Pronounced: EPO-2, referring to epo and oxygen (O 2 ) P&O: personnel and organisation Expertise: knowledge and competence in a certain field Development: indicates the dynamic aspect, and this for 3 domains 1
2 EPO (Erytropoëtine) holds a negative connotation as one of the most known doping substances in sport. But there is also a natural EPO, a human hormone, that is normally produced in the kidneys and that stimulates the production of red blood cells. EPO ensures more blood in the body. Red blood cells transport oxygen, inter alia, to the muscles, and play an important role in stamina. In short, EPO provides more oxygen, or O2, in the body.
