2 A Comprehensive Health and Wellness Program Especially Designed for Women The experienced health care professionals at the Women s Center at the Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion understand that a woman s health needs are different than a man s. The extensive service offerings focus on meeting the total health and wellness needs of women at every stage of life from teens to childbearing to midlife and beyond. The services available at the Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion are delivered by more than 25 women s health specialists in one convenient location and include: n Obstetrical care: pregnancy and maternal fetal medicine n Gynecologic care: from routine care to pelvic health and urogynecology n Comprehensive breast care n Gender-based medicine n Behavioral health n Gynecologic oncology n Diagnostic testing and specialized services Obstetrical Care: Pregnancy and Maternal Fetal Medicine The Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion provides expectant mothers supportive services close to home from preconception and genetic counseling to education to routine pre-natal exams to management of high risk pregnancies, including high-risk physician specialists and maternal fetal medicine.
3 With more than 110 OB/GYNs caring for patients throughout the Allegheny Health Network, patients have access to personalized labor and delivery care in comfortable, contemporary birthing suits and a Level III neonatal ICU for sick or premature infants at West Penn and Saint Vincent Hospitals, plus continuing care nurseries at Forbes and Jefferson Hospitals. Reproductive Services Located at the Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion are compassionate specialists in reproductive medicine dedicated to advanced, up-to-date diagnoses and treatment for infertile couples. Gynecologic Care The Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion has on-site physicians that specialize in a wide variety of gynecologic care from routine exams to comprehensive treatment for pelvic health disorders and urogynecology. Patients will also find services to guide them through successful midlife transitions, by offering routine exams and disease prevention designed to achieve a state of well-being, in body, mind and spirit. Comprehensive Breast Care The Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion Breast Center offer a range of services from prevention to diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. The Breast Center is dedicated to a holistic approach to wellness from routine mammograms to the latest medical advancements in prevention, detection and treatment of benign and malignant breast disease. The experienced team is known for patient-focused care and national leadership in the treatment of breast cancer. A breast navigator is available to help women through all stages of breast cancer; these services are available within the walls of the Health + Wellness Pavilion.
4 Allegheny Health Network has always been on the forefront of advanced breast cancer diagnosis and treatment, including being the first location in the U.S. to offer General Electric s 3D tomosynthesis machine. In addition, highly advanced treatment techniques including stereotactic biopsy, digital mammography, breast ultrasound and MRI are available. These techniques also focus on minimizing patient pain and discomfort by offering sentinel-node technique, lumpectomy, nipple and skin-sparing mastectomies. Gender-based Medicine Because health management often differs between women and men, a range of specialized care specifically for women is offered through primary care and other specialists including: n Endocrine Located in the Women s Center at the Health + Wellness Pavilion are endocrinologists who specialize in bone health, diabetes and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). With a dexa machine, laboratory, rheumatologists, infusion therapy and physical therapy all available at Wexford, diagnosing and treating women with bone loss and osteoporosis is a one stop experience. n Autoimmune Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion is staffed with physicians who specialize in the treatment of autoimmune disease through the Lupus Center of Excellence and the Center for Bone Health. Patients will also find complete care for the treatment of endocrine and metabolic disorders, including thyroid and diabetes. n Women s heart health Through the Cardiovascular Institute located at the Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion, the unique cardiac needs of women are addressed focusing on prevention and treatment of heart disease. n Women s gastroenterology Through the subspeciality area located at the Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion, women can see experts in GI that are specially skilled to diagnose inflammatory bowel disease.
5 Gynecologic Oncology The on-site Gynecologic Oncology program offers in-depth consultation, medical therapy, inpatient and outpatient chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation oncology, prevention and education for patients with cervical, endometrial and ovarian cancer. Newly diagnosed cancer patients will be assigned a Nurse Navigator who provides highly personalized service through their entire treatment program and follow-up care. Diagnostic Testing The Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion provides convenient access to several diagnostic services focused on women s health needs. The on-site concierge service will assist patients with the registration process and provide a written itinerary of appointments. Sevices include: n Breast ultrasound n Dexa scan n Digital mammography and tomosynthesis n Neonatal stress testing n OB ultrasound n Laboratory n General radiology as well as advanced CT and MRI n Physical therapy for special women s health needs
6 Coordinated Care for Busy Schedules The Health + Wellness Pavilion offers expanded hours, on-site child care through a staffed Austin s Playroom and pharmacy services. The staff at the Women s Center will schedule your appointments and ensure that all aspects of care are communicated accurately and timely. Wellness and Prevention Patients who have time before or after an appointment can take advantage of several available classes: monthy Health for Her sessions or cooking classes, health education, yoga or nutrition. A number of educational programs are provided for moms-to-be including pregnancy, breastfeeding and newborn basics.
