Aldren Agang, Labogon NHS athlete, meltdown and unfazed the freezing endurance of his rivals during the Milo Little Olympics at Cebu City Sports Center on August Agang s victory shaped a great impact to other players after landing first place in the steeplechase 3K and 5K for long distance run. According to Agang s viewers, he played the game safely. From the very start of the event, Agang showed how a Labogonian athlete like him deserved to mark history in the field of athletics, remembering how Agang sizzled his previous games dominating an impetus performance to his contingents. I felt so happy about it cause Lislie Manatad, the first ever RSPC winner with her coach. I was really shocked when I heard my name announced as the fifth placer. I never expected to win in this big competition, Manatad said. Though she was not able to make it to the top three, still she was a pride to the Division of Mandaue City and especially to the school. Sa kadaghanan sa mi-join sa contest, dili ko katuo nga makadaug ko, she added. She also said that she couldn t imagine winning the competition because her competitors were using highly advanced cameras and they were using expensive materials in lay-outing their pieces. Wala jud diay sa panindutay. Stock knowledge ra jud sa unsay technique on getting a good angle sa akong picture, she explained. Manatad was trained by her coach and the School Paper Adviser Dorothy C. Seno. I am extremely happy. God really answered my prayer. And I hope that this will be the starting point for the Labogon NHS writers to become Regional winners and hopefully National winners, Seno said jubilantly. Staff is working hard for the upcoming writing tilt competition and cross fingered to win more awards in Regionals and hopefully National competitions. I m not really expecting to win. Everyone s intense desire is to grab the triumph and to build a big name in a particular event, Agang admitted. Agang did not only receive two gold medals but also two silver medals in 1.5K and 4x400m relay with Charold Petallar, Jemboy Cabase and Juril Durog. I may not be able to grab the victory but still it s a pleasure to all of us (Labogonian athletes) to beat athletes from other schools here in Cebu, he added. Agang and the rest of the team aims to dash for their next competition, the City Olympics, on September.

I will see to it that progress will be implemented, said Jocelyn Villamor, the new principal of Labogon National High School. Villamor said that her priority is to improve the academic performance of the school using the funds provided for them. Though Labogon is an academically performing school, it was noted that it has not reached yet the 75 percent MPS (Mean Percentage Score), she said. The MPS is used to measure the school capacity of students given a variety of assessments, ranging from standardized multiplechoice tests to performance- based proficiency assessments. We have 10 dengue cases in barangay Labogon as recorded by the City Health Office this year. Three people from Mandaue died of dengue as of August. According to Jasmine Marie Seno, City Health Office nurse and coordinator for dengue cases, the local government is intensifying its campaign against dengue. Seno urged the public to be more proactive and to consult barangay health centers if they suspect that a family member has dengue. Dengue being a viral infection may have no cure, but there are measures we can adopt to reduce and prevent it. Using mist chemical sprays instead of fogging to kill mosquitoes that carry the dengue virus, avoid stagnant waters like canals because mosquitoes will lay their eggs on the water. Why dengue cannot be controlled? Ignorance of the dengue symptoms is the main cause why deaths have increased among dengue patients. In fact, public hospitals are already full of dengue patients and can t accommodate some who are still coming. If only we are not so lazy Kabilang sa pangunahing isyu na may kaugnayan sa mga programa ng K+12 ay ang mga pinansyal na kapasidad ng mga magulang, bilang ng mga paaralan at guro,at kahit na ang kakulangan sa pagkakaroon ng ng mga libro at iba pang kagamitang pampaaralan.kaya gayon na lamang ang opinyon at reaksyon ng publiko na karimaha y puro negatibo. Pareja to clean or sanitize our places, then cases of dengue will be prevented. Maybe we are not concerned about it unless one of our family members experience or worse die because of it. Another factor that affects the rise in the number of dengue cases in the Philippines for the first half of the year is global warming. The increase in the number of dengue cases may be attributed to the constantly changing climate brought by the global warming as well as congestion in urban areas, Health secretary Francisco Doque said. What can we do to fight dengue? Yet, there is no known cure or vaccine for the dengue fever which is transmitted by the white-spotted mosquito. The best remedy is early diagnosis and a combination of measures will and can prevent dengue, in addition, the DOH urged the entire people not to take Tylenol brand of paracetamol or acetaminophen when you have dengue but take Biogesic which is a milder form of paracetamol instead. Tylenol has been found to be toxic to the liver and since dengue causes transitory Ngunit huwag naman sanang ipagwalang-bahala ang pamilya ng mga kabataang direktang tatamaan ng sistemang ito.bagama t kailangan ngang dagdagan ang mga taon sa pag-aaral,maisip naman sana ng mga namumuno na ito y pahirap din sa mga pamilyang dati nang naghihikahos. Therefore, Laboganons, may we not end up blaming each one of us on not performing the duties. We need to be more responsive and together with the scientific community, more effective health care and delivery system must be performed. This issue deals on saving lives. Let us work and cooperate to eradicate dengue.
