2 Medezine 5000 Autopsy Saw Medezine 5000 (Complete System) Medezine have been manufacturing medical saws for over 20 years and they are now used extensively throughout the world. The new 5000 unit has been built to cope with the increasing demands in Autopsy work after working closely with its existing users. Safety and efficiency are key factors when purchasing any electrical equipment and the 5000 has been specifically designed with these features in mind. The hand piece can be fully immersed for cleaning without any danger to the user. It has been designed for ergonomic efficiency to reduce operator fatigue and is one of the quietest saws available. The complete Medezine 5000 system is capable of handling health endangering dusts and protecting the user from harmful debris. New Features The Medezine 5000 has been improved to meet today s needs and features with the following changes: Redesigned power supply to give more power to the hand piece to cope with increased demand. Top mounted power lead for easy removal of the hand piece New hand piece storage position to improve stability Larger chassis wheels for easier manoeuvrability The hand piece now has heavy duty bearings to give a longer life The Saw Hand Piece A well balanced cutting head which weighs only 1300g and is ergonomically designed to reduce user fatigue. The unit is fed from the power supply and operates on a very safe 40 volts. The hand piece is hermetically sealed and is watertight to IP67 allowing easy washing and disinfection so the enclosed motor cannot become contaminated. All external materials used in its construction are non corrosive. Power Supply The new power supply uses a one button operation to turn on both the saw and vacuum unit and is protected to IP65 indicating its safety in a wet environment. An intelligent current limiting device which resets itself automatically is incorporated into the power supply to prevent overloading. It has been updated with the latest technology with increased power to the hand piece and updated safety features. Available in either 110 or 240 volt. Vacuum Unit The vacuum unit is very compact and incorporates a highly efficient 3 stage filter paper filter bag, cloth filter and HEPA filter cartridge filtering down to 0.6 microns. The unit is drip proof to IP44 with a bag capacity of 7 litres. Medezine 5000 Portable This comprises of the power supply and hand piece and is fitted with non slip rubber feet and a handle for easy movement. It comes complete with blades and nut wrench and is ready to use straight away. The filtration unit can be added at a later date if required. 2

Flexible Hood The flexible hood can be cut and shaped for ease of use without t compromising the vacuum efficiency. Blade clamp kit Used for removal of the blades. Contains: Nut wrench and two blade clamp retaining screws. Depth Gauge A concentric depth gauge to stop the blade penetrating too deeply. A coarse set on the teeth ensures minimal blockage. With four point fixing so can be rotated to a new position when one saw area becomes blunt. 64mm Circular Plaster Blade pack 10 A fine set on the teeth ensures finer work and less hazard of slipping. 5 OSCIMED PSV Cast Cutter Medezine Plaster Saws The OSCIMED PSV cast cutter has been designed for easy use. Its ergonomic shape and low weight (880g) is adapted to use with one hand. The on/off switch is easy to reach for a quick start/stop function. The vacuum cover and hose are quick release and don t require any tools. Weight: 880g Blade Oscillation: 14,500RPM Low noise and switch sensor The oscillating movement of the blade is made by a DC motor and a mechanical device. The motor and the high lifespan sensor switch are driven by a microprocessor card which is more efficient than mechanical. The motor and drive are mounted on anti-noise rubbers in the cutting head to reduce vibrations and noise. The cutting blades The blades are circular with a synthetic coupling centre. This coupling ensures a low noise level. A special lock nut makes it easy to install or change the blade without tools For plaster of Paris casts the blades are in stainless steel with a white core. For synthetic casts the blades are in hardened stainless steel with a blue core and for carbon casts the blades are in hardened stainless steel and tin (Yellow) treated with a blue core. Easy maintenance and parts changes The saws design permits an easy and quick change of parts such as the blades, blade cover, vacuum hose and all the filters. Safety low voltage with electrical supply and conformity to the latest medical standards Electrical power is supplied from a 240 volt socket by a cable which passes through a transformer reducing voltage to 24VDC. It features a cut out area to allow the patient to be seated closer to the technician.
