4 This effort is consistent with the 2008 Philippine Lasallian Family Convocation resolution on social involvement that challenges Lasallian institutions to review and secure alignment of the[ir] curricular offerings, research programs, internal practices, policies and structures with the ideals of justice, peace and integrity of creation.
5 Steps 1. Within SY , develop a comprehensive environmental sustainability plan that will include: a) a continuous improvement process that will lead us to carbon neutrality. b) actions to make environmental sustainability and stewardship a part of the curriculum and the educational experience of all students. c) actions to expand research that contribute to environmental solutions. d) mechanisms for tracking progress on sustainability goals and actions. e) the creation of institutional structures that will guide the development and implementation of the environmental sustainability plan. 2. Initiate interim activities that will lead to environmental sustainability, including: a) a comprehensive inventory of greenhouse gas emissions to establish the school's carbon footprint b) an energy efficiency program to reduce the institutional carbon footprint. c) the creation of purchasing policies that will require the procurement of energyefficient equipment and environment-friendly supplies. d) an institutional waste reduction and segregation program. 3. Draw out from other academic institutions a shared response to the global need to establish a more sustainable environment for the generations that will follow.
