We actively seek ways to reduce our environmental footprints by ways of reducing energy and water consumption and carbon emission reduction through advanced technologies during our production processes. Our product development teams work relentlessly to identify opportunities to make our products more eco-friendly. The demand of eco-friendly products is continually increasing and Esquel s vertically integrated supply chain is a major advantage in driving eco-solution to the areas where they are most needed.

3 Energy Saving Annual energy consumption fell by 29% from 2005 to 2008, annual savings of 100 million kwh, equivalent to the annual energy needs of 50,000 families, reduction of 164,000 tons per year in harmful greenhouse gases. Use of solar energy to heat water, saves tons of diesel oil monthly Energy Efficient Lighting, replaced light bulbs with high efficiency fluorescent light tubes and reflectors, saves about 1,000 kwh monthly Installation of Water Curtains, better ventilation and cooling, saves up to 80% electricity Installation of Skylights, makes use of natural lights to reduce energy consumption Replace double-motors injection machine to single-motors, reduces energy consumption by 17% Thermal Power Plant, supplies own electricity and steam to enhance energy efficiency and greatly reduces carbon dioxide emission Desulfurization of Waste Lye, reduces power plant s sulfur dioxide emissions by 600 tons annually Emissions Control Uses Only Clean Low Sulfur Coal, not only cheaper but much cleaner source of power

4 Water Conservation Reduced water consumption by 40% from 2005 to 2008, amounting to 3.5 million tons of water, enough to meet the needs of 17,500 households. Waste Water Treatment Plant, neutralizes 32,000 tons of waste water from mills and factories Patented Pulse Dyeing Technology, consumes 23% less water, 7% less electricity and 10% less chemicals Cold Pad Batch Pre-treatment Technology, saves 80% of water and 70% of energy Recycling Cooling Water, saves 300 tons of water which is one third of the water consumption of plastic factory Wet Processing Centre, recycles water in the garment washing process up to 5 times Recycling Polishing Water, saves 1,000 tons of water every month

5 Our Eco-friendly Solutions EAP works hand in-hand with customers to help them meet the sustainable product requirements demanded by the apparel marketplace. Here are just a few Recycled Woven Fabric Label & Bag, made from discarded cotton fabric or leftover, reduces the use of standard and wasted fabrics. Recycled Button, made from unsaturated polyester plastic and resin leftover, reduces the use of resin that cannot be degraded. Recycled Yarn Label, made from discarded PET bottles, reduces the use of standard yarns. Organic Cotton Tape, made by certified organic cotton, reduces the use of pesticides and fertilizers on cotton, much softer on skin. Chlorine Free Paper Hangtag, have not been bleached with chlorine or any chlorine-based compound, reduces dioxins that are associated with numerous health problems. Bio-degradable Brand Seal, Clip Collar Band and Polybag, made of plant-based materials can significantly reduce environmental problems. Organic Yarn Label, made by certified organic cotton, reduces the use of pesticides and fertilizers on cotton, much softer on skin.
