1 RP Series Price Radiant Panels are designed to provide radiant heating and cooling. The superior thermal comfort and high capacity achieved with radiant heating and cooling, as well as the flexibility and customization of the product, makes it suitable for use in almost any application. A range of radiant panels are available for countless applications. Both linear and modular panels are available Mounting options include free hang, surface and wall mount Available with smooth finish, perforation, silk-screening and custom paint finishes Customizable for integration into architectural designs for additional product information, including product videos and brochures.

2 RP Series Product Overview RP Series Price Radiant Panels, RP, are designed to provide radiant heating and cooling to a zone. They are designed with a low profile to integrate into a multitude of different installations, from standard suspended ceiling systems to free hanging applications and surface mounted applications on walls or ceilings. The superior thermal comfort performance and high capacity achieved with radiant panels make them suitable for use in almost any application. They are typically installed along perimeters, corridors, hallways and aisle ways, or in interior spaces. Radiant Panels handle the sensible portion of a building load and must be paired with an air ventilation system such as Fan Coils (Section F1), Underfloor (Section I), Displacement (Section J), or Active Beams (Section L), for ventilation and latent load removal. The standard Price Modular Radiant Panel,, is suitable for exposed application, typically in a T-Bar ceiling. The can also be recessed or flush mounted on a drywall ceiling. This model is most ideal for interior spaces and grid ceilings, though they can be used for perimeter application as well. It is also available in a tegular finish. RPL The standard Price Linear Radiant Panel, RPL, is suitable for exposed application, typically in a T-Bar ceiling. The RPL can also be recessed or flush mounted on a drywall ceiling. This model is most ideal for perimeter areas and excellent for window treatment, though they can be used in interior spaces as well. RPLA The Price Exposed Linear Radiant Panel, RPLA, provides alternate solutions for utilizing radiant panels when the ceiling space is not available, a radiant panel installed or recessed into the ceiling is not feasible, or the radiant panel is to be placed in an area with high ceilings. It can also be chosen to add design elements into a space to provide both a practical function and aesthetic appeal. Three different types of mounting installations are available: wall mount, surface mount and free hang, as well as a variety of finish options. RPL RPLA Cooling Panel Heating Panel H-51

3 Product Information Models Modular Radiant Panel The Price Modular Radiant Panel,, is designed to integrate into a standard or tegular suspended ceiling system and provide radiant heating and/or cooling to a zone. The features heat sinks on the back of a rigid ceiling tile to effectively transfer heat from copper tubes to the panel face. Additionally, non-hardening thermal paste between the tubing and the heat sink, as well as between the heat sink and the panel, maximizes heat transfer which increases performance. The superior thermal comfort achieved with radiant panels make the suitable for use in almost any application. The modular radiant panel can be silk screened to simulate a wide variety of nontextured and minimally textured ceiling tile patterns. Features Integrated aluminum heat sinks for optimal heat transfer Non-hardening thermal paste between tubing and heat sink, as well as between heat sink and panel Choice of 2 face finishes: smooth, perforated (21% free area) Choice of panel material: aluminum, steel Choice of sweat or NPT connections Choice of pipe system: 2- or 4- pipe, inactive section, double saddle Options Insulation (acoustical or foil backed insulation) Special custom color finishes and silk screening Tegular panel Construction / Finish Heat Sinks Extruded Aluminum Panel Material Aluminum or Steel sheet metal Piping ASTM B75 Copper 5/8 OD (1/2 nominal) copper tubes Finish Standard White (B19) Dimensional Data - Imperial (inches) Nom. 7 Installation Linear & Modular Installation RPL and RPLA panels come with two to five cross braces (based on length) for bracing and provide a structure if the unit is to be hung or suspended. RPLA comes with mounting brackets that are to be installed to the wall or drywall ceiling. panels are installed similar to lay-in tiles. S panels are installed by connecting the panel to angle iron (supplied by others) with the security screws and bushings. RPL and RPLA panels are constructed of extruded aluminum and have a female and male edge. The female edge is required to be installed against/toward the exterior wall. Please note that all panels are made with a red label indicating female edge. Radiant Panel Widths and Finished Openeings Female Edge Radiant Panel Widths and Finished Openings When handling the radiant panels, it is recommended that clean white gloves be used to avoid smudging and marking the unit. Hanging or suspended panels are installed using threaded rod, carabineer, hanger wire, wire rope, chain link or gripple (by others) as per local building codes. All radiant panels must have at least one hanger wire on each cross brace. Any panel installed against exterior walls should have the first tube supplied nearest the wall. Connection to the water coil can be made with soft copper, male/female NPT connection, or with push-on connectors. Use a heat pad between Radiant Panel and copper pipe when making soldering connections. Excessive heat can damage the paint finish. When panels require site cutting, use a circular saw with carbide tipped blade. Cut with the finish surface facing the saw and ensure you protect the finish surface before cutting begins. 8 Installation Linear & Modular Ceiling Height De-ration Data Radiant Panel Height Above Finished Floor/Average Water Temperature. For radiant panels to perform efficiently, Price recommends that the average water temperature used with its panels be between 110 F [43 C] and 190 F [88 C] for ceiling heights up to 10 ft (3 m). This table gives the de-ration percentage for ceiling heights exceeding 13 ft (3900 mm). As we start moving away from the occupied zone, the radiative energy is absorbed and equalized with the cool surfaces higher up in the ceiling area, reducing the amount of radiative energy remaining by the time it reaches the occupied zone. The increase in ceiling height also reduces the view factor of the radiant panel to the people in the room. Thus, a de-ration factor must be accounted for when mounting panels at high ceiling heights. Panel Height A.F.F. ft (mm) De-ration % 14 (4200) 3 15 (4500) 6 16 (4800) 9 17 (5100) (5400) (5700) (6000) 21 Panel Handing / Coil Connection Panel handing is required when ordering RPL, RPLA, (odd pass), and S (odd pass). For RPL and RPLA, orientation is taken with respect to looking at the wall or an imaginary wall and determining which end the supply is located on. RPL and RPLA are constructed of extruded aluminum panels that have a female and male edge. The female edge for a castellated finish is required to be installed against/ toward the exterior wall in order to hide the seam that is created when the planks are assembled together. RPL and RPLA panels come with a red label indicator to show which side is the female edge. Any panel installed against exterior walls should have the first tube supplied nearest the wall. The initial temperature difference between the first pass of the panel and the colder surface is largest. The temperature difference between the panel and room will become more uniform as it moves toward the interior. Images on the left show lefthanded even and odd pass panels with supply connection located on the left side, closest to the wall. Images on the right show right-handed even and odd pass panels with supply connection located on the right side, closest to the wall. For odd pass and S, the image on the left shows a left-handed panel with supply connection located in the top left, and the image on the right shows right-handed panel with supply connection located in the top right. Piping layout is available in either 2 or 4 pipe configuration. All connections are ½ nom. copper sweat, male NPT or female NPT.
