3 INTRODUCTION You must properly prepare and maintain your skin for the best lightening results. If you do not exfoliate your skin, this will result in uneven skin lightening. It also will take longer for you to see results of the skin lightener. Before starting your skin lightening regimen you need to prime your skin by exfoliating. Below are tips that you can add to your own daily regimen. ::: OPTIONAL ::: These methods are optional in addition to the regimen on the following pages. Any one of them wont cause significant skin lightening when used alone, but COLLECTIVELY WILL render the quickest most effective skin lightening results. Good luck & happy lightening! : ) Retin-A Gel 0.1% (tretinon): Is a penetration enhancer for skin lighteners and improves their efficacy a great deal. It causes skin to peel VERY well and promotes skin cell turn over. It also diminishes wrinkles & stretch marks. DO NOT mix Retin-A with chemical exfoliants (i.e. glycolic acid, salicylic acid, etc.) or products containing chemical exfoliants. DO NOT use on the same day that you have performed a chemical peel. DO NOT apply after having applied a moisturiser/cream/lotion/gel containing chemical exfoliants either. This will irritate your skin terribly (itching & redness). Retin-A Gel 0.1% is pretty strong so you don t have to use it very often IF you re already using chemical exfoliants on a daily basis. You can apply it ONCE a day 1-2 times a week. Please understand that Retin-A 0.1% is MUCH stronger (10x s!) than Retin-A 0.01% and Retin-A 0.05% (5 x s!). Some people don t understand or they completely dismiss the decimal point value which is VERY important. Glutathione, Cystiene & Vitamin-C: In addition to the below tips you can also take Glutathione, Cystiene & Vitamin-C supplements to give a boost in skin lightening. Glutathione pills are popular for lightening skin but most people don t know or understand that taking them don t necessarily, it s the raising of your own glutathione levels that lighten your skin. Your body already naturally produces glutathione, a side effect of raising your glutathione levels is skin lightening. This can be done by taking Vitamin-C (anti-oxidant) & also Cystiene (amino acid) supplements. Foods high in either can also do this. Anti-oxidants tend to raise glutathione levels in general. Taking at least 1000mg-3000mg of Vitamin-C per day can raise glutathione levels. In addition to that you can take additional glutathione supplements along with the Vitamin-C & Cystiene supplements. 5 (continued...) MOISTURIZER After exfoliating you need to properly moisturize your skin. It is not suggested that you use regular lotions to do this. Natural fragrance-free/alcohol-free oils are much better especially after exfoliating when your skin will be slightly raw & sensitive. There have been reports of individuals using Almond Glow Oil after exfoliating, before using Monobenzone Cream 20% so that it won t sting or burn. One particular individual used to mix her tube of Benoquin with Almond Glow (see article link below). Almond glow is fine but cocoa butter is the best moisturizer to use on your skin especially after exfoliating. Cocoa butter helps to lighten scars, stretch marks AND prevents scaring & darkening of the skin if used on wounds/bruises iwhile they are still healing. The best brand to use is Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula (not the lotion) the one in the jar and the stick. Regular cocoa butter is good but it tends to be very greasy & doesn t absorb very well. Palmer s absorbs very well and makes the skin feels so soft & silky and has a pleasant sweet smell.

It also evens skin tone & tightens skin. MOISTERIZE This is very important after exfoliating your skin. After applying the lemon juice, while your skin is still damp apply your skin bleaching/lightening cream. After the cream has absorbed then apply your mosturizer. If your Skin bleaching/lightening cream is moisturizes your skin enough then you don t have to apply any more lotions or oils to the skin.
