4 At Charlotte Plastic Surgery we offer a variety of skin care treatments including superficial chemical peels that vary in strength. The most common peels include Alpha Hydroxy Acids such as Glycolic and Lactic acid and Beta Hydroxy Acid such as Salicylic Acid. We use superior brands to give our patients safe and effective results. PEELS Superfical peels are designed to gently exfoliate the superficial outer layer of the epidermis to reveal healthy, brighter skin. For optimal results, a series of peels may be recommended to help minimize hyperpigmentation, fine lines and recent acne scars. In conjunction with your customized treatment plan our skin health professionals will recommend a suitable at-home skin care regimen based on the condition of your skin and your lifestyle. SKINMEDICA ILLUMINIZE PEEL combines a variety of AHA s, BHA and vitamin A to offer a gentle exfoliation to help minimize mild sun damage and fine lines leaving your skin noticeably smoother and brighter. This peel also works well to minimize mild acne breakouts and blackheads. With the Illuminize Peel patients will experience minimal to no peeling. Peel can be repeated in 2-3weeks. VITALIZE PEEL is slightly more aggressive then the Illuminize Peel. Patients will experience 3-5 days of flaking or peeling skin. This peel is recommended for mild to moderate sun damage, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles and acne scarring. Vitalize Peel can be repeated in 3-4 weeks. REJUVENIZE PEEL is our most aggressive peel. SkinMedica created this peel for patients with more moderate to severe sun damaged skin, hyperpigmentation, melasma and acne scaring. Patients usually experience 5-7 days of peeling skin. Rejuvenize Peel can be repeated in 6-8 weeks. PCA SKIN SENSI PEEL is effective for patients with dry, sensitive, acne prone skin. The Sensi Peel will help mimimize redness and inflammation along with brightening and improving the overall texture of the skin. Patients may experience 2-3 days of flaking skin. The Sensi Peel is safe to perform on all skin types and can safely be repeated in 2-3 weeks.

FACIALS Our facials are customized based on a patient s skin care concerns. Our Skin Health Professional will choose the best products to improve the overall health of your skin. MICRODERMABRASION FACIAL utilizes the DiamondTone technology to gently exfoliate the outer layer of the skin without the use of chemicals. A customized mask or peel will be applied after the exfoliating treatment to leave your skin smooth and hydrated. Microdermabrasion is a wonderful lunchtime treatment. Makeup can be applied immediately after treatment is completed. This treatment is only available at our Ballantyne location. DERMAPLANING FACIAL is performed using a dermablade to exfoliate the outer layer of skin as well as remove the superficial, vellus hair. By removing this hair skin feels and looks smoother and brighter. A customized mask or peel will be applied after the dermablading for a deeper exfoliation. This treatment will give your skin an immediate glow. OXYGEN FACIAL THERAPY deeply cleanses, nourishes and hydrates the skin. Skin is rid of toxins, which cause skin damage, and is thoroughly infused with antioxidants and moisture. Skin is left feeling rejuvenated and fine lines are diminished. This treatment is safe for all skin types, including rosacea-aggravated skin, and is most often used to promote healing of the skin following various facial surgeries. 6 DERMAPEN The Dermapen is a micro-needling device used to tighten, lift and rejuvenate the skin. Charlotte Plastic Surgery is excited to offer our patients the opportunity to rejuvenate their skin with minimal downtime and expense. This procedure is done in a series of 3-5 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. The hand held needling device is used to stamp the skin creating a micro-injury encouraging the body s healing ability to produce new healthy skin. Years of sun exposure, acne and overall skin aging will greatly improve with only a few treatments. The light energy delivered by the BBL targets and eliminates many of the fine vessels that cause redness and the unwanted melanin responsible for pigmented lesions. With BBL there is little to no downtime. Mild to moderate redness immediately after treatment should be expected and will begin to go away with in an hour or two post treatment. In most situations, patients can resume their normal skin care regimen with in a few days after treatment. For best results a series of three treatments is usually recommended and can be performed four weeks apart from each other.
