2 Shimano XTR Engineered for the way you ride Power, efficiency and control The newly developed 10-speed Dyna-Sys drivetrain system with double or triple crankset is the heart of the 2011 Shimano XTR group. But this is not the only innovation that makes the new XTR more versatile than ever. As well as aiming for the best possible power transfer, efficiency and controllability, our engineers and designers focused on a rider-tuned concept right from the product development stage. Rider-tuned means being able to put components together in combinations that perfectly match the needs and riding styles of individual cyclists. This broadens the scope of XTR and makes it the first choice not just for Cross Country racers but for All Mountain riders and trail surfers, too. Cross Country and All Mountain are also the keywords for the braking systems, hubs and wheel sets that have been specially optimised for these types of usage. The many new and improved functions and the fantastic looks of these products will once again raise the bar for MTB components and appeal to millions of mountain bikers. Check converter chooses 3x and shifter is in LOW position. 2. Install the inner cable (if necessary). 3. Push main lever ONE time to MIDDLE position of shifter. 4. Rotate converter switch to 2x position. Done! Note: Inner cable can be removed / installed only at LOW position of the shifter. To replace inner cable, set to 3x mode and shift to LOW. After that, perform steps 3 to 4 again. Triple set-up 1. Rotate converter switch to 3x position. Done! 3

Here are some remarks for best and easiest bleeding: Oil funnel 45 OK Oil funnel is necessary. It does not come with BL-M985/988. Code no.: ESMDISCBP Bleed nipple 2. The end with the bleed nipple must face downwards as shown in the illustration. If it is outside the range shown, complete air bleeding may not be possible. 3. S et the brake lever at a 45 angle to the ground to achieve best oil flow while bleeding. SM-BH90 The new brake hose SM-BH90 has a smaller inner diameter for higher stiffness. Therefore a special insert pin (silver colour) is required which is not interchangeable with the current insert pin. Silver coloured insert pin for SM-BH90, black pin for current brake hoses. 9
