2 General Education Coursework Students registered in the BBA, General Management major are required to take 12 General Education courses as part of their degree. This component in your degree is designed to give you a breadth of knowledge and exposure to additional subject areas that complement your General Management major area of study. General Education is also designed to give you choice you can explore a wide range of new subjects, or if you wish, you can choose to go deep in an area of interest. General Education courses are organized into four thematic clusters: 1. Numeracy & Scientific Literacy 2. Values, Beliefs & Identity 3. Community & Society 4. Communication Students explore subjects in each of these areas at three different tiers: Tier Study One foundation course from each of the clusters = 4 Courses Second Tier Study Choose one course from each cluster = 4 Courses Third Tier Study You have the option of narrowing your focus of interest. 6 IMPORTANT INFORMATION Program Components: 40 Courses 16 Core Business Courses, 9 Major Courses in General Management, 12 General Education Courses, 3 Electives Repeated Courses: Coursework Expiration: Spring Term Coursework: Residency Requirement: Grading: Graduation Requirement: When a student presents the same course with more than one grade (i.e. the course has been repeated), the higher grade shall be used for evaluating purposes. Normally there is no time limitation for the application of credit toward a Mount Royal University credential for any course completed at Mount Royal University or at any recognized accredited post-secondary institution. However, time limitations for individual courses may be imposed if the course content is particularly time-sensitive. Any such time limitations must be approved by the Dean/Director of the appropriate faculty/school/centre upon recommendation from the Chair. Students must complete all degree requirements by the end of the winter term of their year of graduation to be able to participate in convocation. conducts two convocation ceremonies per year - one in June and one in November (for any student that finishes in the spring semester). At least 50% of the course work required for a Mount Royal University parchment must be completed as Mount Royal coursework. Credit will be considered only for those courses which have been completed with the minimum grade required for program continuance. If a program continuance is not stated the minimum grade is D. To successfully complete the Mount Royal University Bachelor of Business Administration, General Management Major at RDC, students must complete a minimum of 20 required courses; have a minimum GPA of 2.0 calculated on all courses required for graduation. Upon completion of the program, students will submit an application to Mount Royal University. Upon confirmation of graduation, students may attend convocation at Mount Royal and receive their parchment (payment of a convocation fee must be included with application) or students can attend convocation at RDC. Part-time students have up to 8 years to complete their program.
