Peck 9/05/2014 Approved By / Date: General Description: The Hellenbrand Series Membrane Systems are state of-the-art, versatile systems for treating tap and well water supplies with flow rates ranging from 500 to 8,000 gallons per day with minimal energy consumption and low maintenance and operation costs. Series Systems feature a robust, innovative design that allows for versatility in the event of feed water quality and temperature variations. Standard features include C21 and C23 computer controller, an ASCO composite 212-series solenoid valve, a chemical injection port with 110V or 220V power outlet, a low pressure switch, and a stainless steel booster pump for high performance and corrosion resistance. The systems will feature high quality components for enhanced performance and durability. HF and HF extra low energy membranes will be featured on the 500, 1000 and 2000 gallon per day systems, whereas the 4,000 to 8,000 gallon per day systems will feature HF extra low energy membranes (not installed, shipped separately). All systems will feature FRP-Series membrane housings, gauges and flow meters, filter housings and cartridges, and needle valves. The Series systems are available with a wide variety of options. TDS monitoring is available with a mounted HM Digital DM-2 TDS meter option. The DM-2 is a commercial inline dual TDS monitor which displays TDS levels of the feed water and product water with in & out probes. The 6,000 gallon per day system features an expandable design so that one model can be upgraded with HF membrane and membrane housing, thus increasing the production rate of the system. Optional levelers or caster wheels can be added to any system. All systems come pre-assembled and pre-wired for ease of installation and servicing. Mechanical Description: The major components of the system are supported by a powder coated frame and designed in such a way to provide easy access for servicing, maintenance, and monitoring system performance. Hellenbrand Series systems are offered in six different models: 500, 1000, 2000, 4000, 6000, and the Models come standard 110V and Models 6,000-8,000 come standard 220V. SERIES 1 9/14

2 Series Product Specification The Series systems have a 3/4" FNPT ASCO solenoid valve, followed by a 5 micron pre-filter with pressure gauges to monitor filter inlet and outlet pressures. Following the pre-filter, a low pressure switch protects the pump from potential cavitation damage. If the pre-filter outlet pressure is satisfactory, the RO pump will turn on and pressurized water will flow through the HF4 membrane elements. The Series systems monitor RO permeate flow, concentrate flow and recycle flow utilizing analog style flow meters. needle valves control the flow of concentrate to drain and the flow of concentrate recycle back to the feed line before the RO pump. Electrical Description: The 500 and 1000 systems come with a C21 on/off switch controller used to perform all of the functions necessary to reliably operate the system. The 2000, 4000, 6000 and 8000 systems come with a C23 computer controller. The C23 controller incorporates a flush cycle that can help increase membrane life. The controller is assembled in the USA and manufactured in compliance with UL-508, and IEC Standard part 4 for EMI noise interference. The panel display has six LED status indicators and seven easy access program switches. Primary power is switch selectable for either 115VAC, or 230VAC operation at 50/60 Hz. Internal power board has pump and board fuses, and convenient power distribution terminals. Primary DPST power switch and pump relay are rated for 120VAC and 240VAC. Automatically maintains water storage tank level, using single float, or pressure switch. Controls water inlet relay and membrane flush relay. All outputs have isolated contacts rated to 240VAC. Lockout input will shut down operation during pre-treatment regeneration. Pressure switch input will shut down the pump for 5 minutes if the pressure is low. Automatic membrane flush cycles have selectable flush times and frequencies. Program switch enables 10 minute restart delay, and 24 hour full tank membrane flush.
