2 Objectives Conservation of water, minimizing wastage and ensuring its more equitable distribution both across and within States through integrated water resources management

Incentives for water neutral and water positive technologies in industries [ ]

Involve and encourage corporate sector / industries to take up, support and promote water conservation, augmentation and preservation within the industry and as part of corporate social responsibility [continuing activity, to be expanded during XI and XII Plan]

Expeditious implementation of water resources projects particularly the multipurpose projects with carry over storages benefitting drought prone areas and rain deficient areas. Promotion of traditional system of water conservation expeditious implementation of programme for repair, renovation and restoration of water bodies [continuing activity, to be expanded during XI and XII Plan]

Physical sustainability of ground water resources Pursuing enactment of bill for ground water regulation and management [enacted in 11 States, enactment to be in other States] expeditious implementation of programme for conservation of water through recharge of ground water active community participation in ground water regulation and management promotion of Panchayat / district level model for ground water regulation etc. [continuing activity, to be expanded during XI and XII Plan]
