5 Related Workforce Trends Bureau of Labor Statistics: 65 million Americans or 40% of the workforce will be freelance solopreneurs by Telework Research Network: estimates telecommuting growth at 26% per year. U.S. Workers Overall by Donald J. Edelman, Inc., says 50% of freelancers under the age of 40, but almost 20% are 55+. Connected Nation 2014 surveys reveal 34% of businesses allow teleworking.
