1 Fee Rates SPRING CEREAL, OILSEED & SPECIAL CROP VARIETIES This list contains the fee rates that SeCan will collect on the first sales (or own seed use) of all seed sold or used by members between July 1, 2015 and June 30, Fees Report Forms are available to Members in June 2016 and fees are due July 31, 2016 with the exception of Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield soybeans and Genuity Roundup Ready canola that are due by June 30. For varieties not listed please contact the SeCan office. NOTES Plant Breeders' Rights Protected The PBR logo in this column indicates the variety is protected under Plant Breeders Rights. means the variety is protected under UPOV 78. means the variety is protected under UPOV 91. Pending or Pending, in this column indicates PBR has been applied for but has not yet been granted for the variety (at the time of printing). PVP Protected PVP in this column indicates the variety is protected under the Plant Variety Protection Act in the US. Pending in this column indicates PVP Protection has been applied for. Seed Sales Restrictions Certified Sales in this column means no Certified sales are permitted until after the date stated in the Variety Offer. Please contact SeCan for more information. Supplementary Agreement in this column means this variety requires SeCan members to have a signed Supplementary Agreement in order to produce and sell the variety. US Exports "" in this column means these varieties are not available to export to the United States. Varieties with nothing in this column are eligible for export to the US with written permission from SeCan PRIOR to the sale and export. Permission is required for export sales of any class of seed (including Certified) on all crop kinds. Some varieties may also be sold internationally - contact the SeCan office for more information. Permits for Pedigreed Seed Sales to the US: Members must request permission from SeCan to export seed of any class including Certified of any SeCan variety to any country including the US. Variable Fee Rates: (indicated with **) These varieties have variable fee rates based on the region of final sale (i.e. where the seed is planted) within Canada. The variable fee rates are due to differences in regional seed pricing, royalty rates, and/or cost of supporting member sales and promotional activities within a region. It is the responsibility of the SeCan member who makes the INITIAL SALE to report fees on the basis of where the product is to be PLANTED by the final customer. Example: A SeCan member in Manitoba who sells seed of AC Kane or AC Snowstar to a SeCan member, retailer, or farmer in Ontario is responsible to report this as an eastern sale, at the eastern fee rate Spr i ng Cereal, Oilseed & Special Crop Varieties.doc
