Various district VOIP solutions will be highlighted. ERate, hardware, support and general features will be covered by district technology personnel. The session will conclude with a roundtable discussion to cover any VOIP topic in greater detail. 5 March 5 th, 2015 Project Management Transitioning from Working to Winning (9:00am 11:45am) This session is focused on how to change from working on the work to working on a win. All leadership positions today require project management skills. Technology Coordinators, Treasurers and Superintendents all work in a systems environment. The best managers are able to utilize data as a driver in making course corrections to achieve their goals. Often the difference between good and very good within a systems environment is how well management by data is accomplished. This session will provide a look at appropriate tools to assist system managers in moving toward continuous improvement. The same tools can greatly impact performance regardless of specific management area responsibilities. This session is recommended for all members of a district leadership team (Superintendent, Treasurer and Technology Director/Coordinator). The session will conclude with a roundtable discussion to cover district technology projects in greater detail. Presenter: Sascha Durben - Newcomerstown Exempted Village, Media Specialist Track 3 (March 5 th ) - Fiscal Services March 5 th, 2015 Cooperative Services Update (8:30am-9:15am) Did you know that OME-RESA Cooperative Services connects member districts to over 35 purchasing programs? James will provide an overview of the various programs and services that are available through OME-RESA Cooperative Services. Member districts have access to programs from OME-RESA, partnerships with statewide cooperatives, and our national cooperative, Association of Educational Purchasing Agencies (AEPA). An update of new bid catalogs and programs being developed will also be discussed. Presenter: James Hinerman -OME-RESA, Regional Cooperative Services Liaison EMIS Funding and Foundation Reports (9:30am-10:30am) Topics to be discussed include: How current data affects current funding, including use of the new Report Collector, use of FTE instead of ADM for funding, HB 367 changes concerning full-time high school students and the deletion of the 105-hour withdrawal rule, transfer of catastrophic cost, excess cost, and tuition payments from hard copy to online applications, Community school funding and anything new that occurs between now and then. Presenter: Jack Nairus - Area 10 Coordinator 30 Hour Rule (10:45am-11:45am) This session will discuss how employers are now responsible for tracking employee hours in relation to standard measurement periods, initial measurement periods and vacation periods (e.g., Christmas Break, summer, etc.) Additionally, we will discuss the PPACA 30 hour rule and how it is affecting decisions about substitutes, specifically how much time to allow them to work and other seasonal or temporary employees.
