2 COMPANY HISTORY SUNINVEST has a history dating back to 2007 when the founder company Suninvest Moravia s.r.o was established. One year later this became Suninvest Slovacko s.r.o. All following a similar commercial strategy, the companies followed a shared target to build and operate photovoltaic power stations as specified by the 180/2002 Sb. law of August 1st 2005, relating to feed-in-tariffs. This had been stimulated by the European Parliament initiative 2001/77/EC which aimed to develop renewable energy resources in the Czech Republic to a target of 8% of gross electrical energy -consumption to be achieved by Installation of solar modules of a rising solar plant

Such co-operation allowed Suninvest Moravia s.r.o to increase their on-a-farm-roof solar plant of 0.25 MWp by several hundred extra kilowatts; a unique photovoltaic construction in a single zone. The combined commercial skills of Suninvest Moravis s.r.o and Suninvest Slovacko s.r.o allow us to offer property owners a very interesting opportunity to rent their roof space for the purpose of solar power generation. Property owners with either saddle or flat roofs facing in a south-westwards direction are generally unaware of the opportunity available to them; the fact that their roof could become a unique chance to improve their personal business income as well as aiding environmental improvement. Suninvest Slovacko s.r.o therefore offers the prospect of additional income from either under-utilised roof-space or from roofs that currently generate no income whatsoever. 6 PROS AND CONS There are, like any other entrepreneurial project, many questions to be answered. One of the toughest obstacles to investment is the high start-up cost which at the larger sized plants can run from the tens to hundreds of millions. Other problems can be caused by roofs which are not strong enough to take the weight of the solar equipment they may need either reinforcing or even rebuilding; also the roof s gradient may not be sufficient to ensure adequate snow removal so reducing the capability for electrical generation. Also an agreement between the roofs lessor and lessee needs to be long-term. Generally an agreement that is for a 20 year feed-in-tariff guarantee period is viewed very favourably by planning legislators. Roof-based projects are easier to progress than those that are field-based less administration. Roof generated energy can of course be used on site providing the receiver has the correct equipment. The owner can receive both a monthly rental income for the leasing of their roof-space as well as cheap electrical energy for their own usage. Solar energy can be installed in many places and can also be easily disassembled for use elsewhere. Ease of removal means the site can be returned to its original state very easily. Solar plants have much to offer. In the Czech Republic they are further aided by very favourable commercial conditions giving the country a high ranking amongst the world field of photovoltaic business right up there with the world leaders in the U.S.A, Germany, Spain, France and Greece.
