4 Celebrity Reining TV-stars getting started >> The moment which closes our Reining week is lighthearted and funny, full of action of laughter. Our Celebrity Reining has established itself as the secret star of the SVAG CS Classic! As the SVAG CS Classic is coming to its end, the participants of our last show the Celebrity Charity Reining are getting more and more nervous, facing the big competition against 7 time F1 World Champion Michael Schumacher, the closing competition of the SVAG CS Classic. As every year, we can feel the TVstars are building up tension, finally facing their first Reining competition ever, while everybody knows the spectators of our Reining celebrate their courage and cheer them up in an extremely positive attitude. This evening, the Celebrity Reining will once again see Micheal compete against these TV celebrities coached by Europe s finest professionals. Be prepared: Again, our Celebrity show will rock the Arena! Saying this, we could not have realized the idea without the help and support of trainers and owners of Ranches in the competitor s countries, who with a lot of patience introduced our tv-celebrities to the world of Reining and the pattern they have to show. Their job for sure is not so easy, and the whole team of the CS Ranch would like to thank them a lot for their work. As usual, the winner of the Charity event is receiving not only the honour of a cool Reining trophy but also a check for his personal charity, and as usual, our Celebrities know exactly who to give the 3000 CHF to, should they win the event... 4

6 This year, our SVAG CS Classic is featuring the following Reining-entries: Birgit von Bentzel, Germany Birgit from RTL Germany used to be the face of the RTL breakfest show for 8 years. Now since 11 years she is presenting the Sport at the main news show RTL aktuell. She also presents sports at the german news channel n-tv. Birgit will ride Sabine Staub s 7 year old Quarter Horse Gelding Golden Jac N Win. Her coach will be Terry Schulz from Mooslargue (France) during the SVAG CS Classic. In the lead up to our show, she has trained on Mizzen Spook at Oliver Stein s facility, owned by Nicole Ulrich. The Charity she is riding for is RTL Spendenmarathon, caring for children in need. Each year before christmas, RTL is dedicating a full day of charity broadcast, collecting a lot of money for various projects supporting poor children around the world. Christophe Malbranque, France Christophe works with Dimanche Méca, a weekly motorsports show live each Sunday evening at French Eurosport. He did not have a lot of time for training, so he trusts for the support of our crowd. He went to Gregory Legrand s place and trained on one of his horses called Commander Nic Nic. Today he is showing on LQ Honey, owned by Ludwig Quarter Horses. Sylvia Maile and Grischa Ludwig have coached him during the SVAG CS Classic. Christophe will ride for Les restos du cœur. A charity organisation created by a french humorist called Coluche. The purpose is to give during the winter a hot meal to people who have nothing, no home, no family, etc... Steven Proven, Belgium Steven is a 28 year old Sports journalist from Belgium, working for SBS Belgium TV, Vier channel. They will broadcast the report of the reining in our pre-race show at the Belgium Grand Prix. He was trained at Eifel Gold Ranch with Susy & Cira Baeck. Today, he is riding a nice mare owned by Rüdiger Diedenhofen, called Bubblicious Gump BB and is coached by Cira Baeck. The charity he is riding for is Make a wish Belgium. The mission of Make- A-Wish is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Manuela Baraschi, Italy Manuela is the competitor for Sky Italia, being responsible for all Sport Productions. She is extremely passionate about riding. Usually she is exercising jumping. Manuela is riding Cruisin in Starstyle, owned by the Kuffer-Hagen Syndicate. Her coach during our event is 6

8 Grischa Ludwig. Her preparation took place at the Centro Equestre Le Baragge, coached by her husband Marcello Giuffrida. Then, she rode the horse called Zadra owned by Giuseppe La Marca. The Charity she is riding for is SOS Levrieri. Every year thousands of greyhound dogs are killed because of the business related to racing, every year thousands of Galgo in Spain are killed because they are deemed no longer useful for hunting. SOS Levrieri has been founded to give a future to these dogs, fostering their uptake in Italy, but also denouncing the perverse mechanisms that produce this situation. Michael Schumacher Michael is the husband of our lovely host Corinna. With 7 world champion titles and 91 victories on his belt, he is by far the most successful Formula 1 driver ever. His domaine clearly is controlling more horse power than just one. Michael rides the 8 years old Buckskin Quarter horse Stallion Sparkin Tinsel, owned by Corinna. His coach is Shauna Larcombe, Head Coach on the CS Ranch. The charity he rides for is Planètes Enfants Malades. Planète Enfants Malades (Sick children Planet) is a non-profit-making private fondation. The fondation beneficiaries are the children and teenagers who are taken care of by paediatric services at the Cantonal University Hospital (CHUV) and the Childhood Hospital in Lausanne. Each year more than 6500 patients from 0 to 18 years old are hospitalised in those services. Those children are coming from the Canton of Vaud but also from the whole French-speaking part of Switzerland as well as from African countries thanks to humanitarian associations. 8

11 Un pas de deux - CS Ranch goes dressage >> This year for the very first time, we are proud to announce a very specific show which two lovely ladies perform for us un pas de deux. Stephanie and Isabelle Seidler will delight our guests with a dressage with two horses doing the same choregraphy on the music, and we really look forward to this CS Ranch Premiere. Stephanie will be finishing med school this summer, she is a dressage rider, french vice-champion in Paris Salon du Cheval (2011) and together with her horse JeSuisBeau she has 35 victories since 2010 under her belt. JeSuisBeau is a selle français chesnut gelding performing in both jumping and dressage with many placings. Her sister Isabelle currently is in her 4th year at law school. She is an experienced jumping rider and has achieved many placings in competitions up to 1m40. Her horse Reventon is a seven year old black Oldenburg stallion who started dressage competitions last year with three wins and three placings in seven starts. Both horses are based and trained at CS Ranch, and the performance can be seen today after the Open Award and before the Celebrity Reining. 11

13 Europa-Park Indians board the CS Ranch >> Between the Limited Non Pro and the Youth Classes, the Europa-Park dancers and artists will be on stage at the CS Ranch In the show arena, the reknowned Europa Park horsemen will thrill the crowd like they did yesterday. Loic Tuetsch along with the beautiful paint horse Moonshine, staged a breath taking freedom dressage where cooperation and trust between man and horse could be felt by all. Once they had performed it was time for some fast and just as breath taking trick riding! Lois, this time with his companion Cedric Burkel, galloped Shayana and Quieta performing fast and amazing vaults. Spectators, young and old, were surprised by Otto Oberhauptling and his animation and his colleagues amazed the crowd with their juggling. Naturally, along with his friends, was Euromaus! Once again the artists were managaed by Manuel Lamprecht from the famous German theme park. Lamprecht has organizing the entertainment at the CS Ranch for three years running. Europa-Park Germany s biggest theme park proposes over 100 thrilling attractions and international shows for the whole family on an area of 85 hectares. Up to 40 daily shows take place at Europa-Park on the uncountable stages of the 13 European themed areas. More than 150 international artists, dancers and acrobats, coming from 20 different countries, are working at Europa-Park during the season and guarantee high-quality shows. 13

14 AP awards Open Winners with specially dedicated Horse Blankets As it already a nice tradition, the Winner of the Open Competition does receive not only the big Reining trophy but also a very prestigious present from our partner Audemars Piguet at this year s Show, we have specially dedicated XCS Horse Blankets plus a precious silver pen for the winner and a Cashmere Plaid for the Runner Up. Also, all riders who have made it into the Awards Presentation during the SVAG CS Classic will be receiving leather gloves from AP. The lady who achieves the highest score overall of the Show week will be awarded with some beautiful chaps from Blue Nugget Exclusive Showwear. And this time, the Youth riders will be awarded with an extra goodie Uvex Sportshelmets and sunglasses are dedicating a riding helmet to the winner oft he Youth 13 under and sunglasses to all awarded riders of the Youth Competition. 16 SVAG CS Classic Rookie Level 2 >> Winning the NRHA Rookie Level 2 with a score of 209.5, in a field of sixteen riders, was Micheal Schumacher with Sparking Tinsel, owned by his wife Corinna, between the reins. I m really happy with the way Sparkin Tinsel went today, he s just a beautiful horse and a great athlete, said a smiling Micheal about the eight-yearold stallion by Tinsel Nic and out of Setting off Sparks. The fun part about showing in this class today is that my friend Klaus (Mantl) and I have a fun private championship which started off last year when we both started showing in the rookie! Today I beat him and now we both look forward to the next time we compete against each other. The reserve championship went in fact to Klaus Mantl of Austria riding Jac Point Qh s JP Elwhiz. Aboard the four-year-old gelding by Heza Sure Whiz and out of Lady Lena Twist, Klaus scored a 207. I am so proud with the way my horse went today and fighting against Micheal was great fun, enthused Klaus who is married to past NRHA Non Pro Reserve World Champion, Tina Mantl. Nathalie Costantini riding, Its All For Me (Dualin For Me x Genuine Red Oak), posted a which earned her the third place in the final standings. Nathalie also rides under the guidance of Shauna Larcombe at CS Ranch. I really enjoyed showing today and just love my horse, said the Swiss rider following the class. << Klaus Mantl on JP Elwhiz 16

20 SVAG CS Classic Limited Open >> It was a special day for multiple all-around Swiss champion, Annika Friesecke, as she went on to win the $500-added NRHA Limited Open aboard RS McJac Hglo (Mc Jac Flash x Harlan Glo). I actually started reining on this great gelding five years ago and liked him from day one, said an enthusiastic Annika who closed her performance with a He s very special and you never actually know what he s going to be like in the pen, but today he was super and I am so happy for this win, both for him and his wonderful owner, Ursula. The twentyfive-yearold professional has been running her own training facility for the last eight years. Her mount, a thirteen-year-old Quarter Horse gelding, is owned by Ursula Niklaus. Attending the event was Annika s father, Sven, president of the NRHA of Switzerland. << Annika Friesecke on RS McJac Hglo In second place, with a score of 213, was yet another Swiss rider. Riding his own Diamond Cat Fifty, Julien Hasler was the first competitor to enter the pen in this class and his score held until Friesecke entered the arena twelve horses later. 22 SVAG CS Classic Non Pro >> Fifteen of Europe s best non pro riders and their great horses rode their way in the beautiful CS Ranch arena vying for the title in the $20,000-added SVAG CS Classic Non Pro. Following the last horse and rider combination performing in the Non Pro, tying to lead were two horserider combinations: Tina Kuenstner Mantl and Heza Sure Whiz (Topsail Whiz x Im Not Blonde) along with Manuel Bonzano and Great Sunburst (Einstein x Docs Sun Burst). Draw 7 and 6 restpectively, both had in fact posted a 222. The past NRHA Non Pro Reserve World Champions, Mantl and her thirteen-year-old mount, and the 2012 NRHA Non Pro World Champions, Bonzano and his ten-year-old Great Sun Burst, opted to tie for the championship. This is just great, said a thrilled Tina following the awards presentation. This is the fifth year running that I have been showing my horse here in the Non Pro and the lowest we ve ever placed is third! He s just great and gets better as time goes by. NRHA Professional, Cody Sapergia, head trainer for Jacpoint Quarter Horses, was quick to praise Tina who rides under his guidance: Tina did a great job and Heza Sure Whiz once again proved his worth. All we do at home with him is keep him fit and happy and just try to make a strategy at the shows. Bonzano was just as happy with the co-championship: Sun Burst is just incredible. He did it again for me, too bad I didn t ride him well into the last stop. As far as tying for the co-championship, both Tina and I believe our horses did not deserve to go back in. I couldn t have chosen to tie for the win with anyone better than my friend Tina. NRHA Million Dollar Rider Bernard Fonck had nothing but good things to say about Manuel and Sun Burst. They both did a great job again! Tying for third place honors a point behind the winners (221) were Swiss Gina Maria and Belgian Piet Mestdagh.
