Robert Malagesi, M.SS.CC. Lori Stewart Dear Friends of Christ, I m excited to share great news with you! The National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, America s oldest known replica of the Grotto of Lourdes in France, will lead a Catholic Pilgrimage to Europe during the month of Holy Souls in Purgatory, November, in Together, we pray and ask for our Blessed Mother Mary s intercession here in Emmitsburg. Now we have an opportunity to come together as followers of Jesus and pray together in locations where our Blessed Mother Mary appeared to those in need, like us. We will be traveling to Portugal, Spain and France. We will journey to some of the most sacred shrines and places of prayer and devotion in Europe! In Portugal, we will visit Fatima, where our Blessed Mother Mary appeared early in the 20th Century. In Spain, our group will visit Santiago de Compostela, famed pilgrimage center and holy city as well as the city of Avila, made famous by St. Theresa. Our tour will also take us to the beautiful cities of Salamanca and Madrid. In France, our travels will take us to Lourdes, where the Virgin Mary appeared to St. Bernadette and where healing occurs even today. There is a wealth of history to be seen and felt in the places we will be visiting and I really look forward to the experience. In addition, a pilgrimage can also be a wonderful opportunity for spiritual renewal and prayer. As such, we will celebrate mass daily as a group and try to get to know one another and have a great trip.
