1 POST CONGRESS TOURS 1. NATURAL MYSTERY OF THE EARLIER ANATOLIA CAPPADOCIA A stark lunar landscape. A mysterious open-air sculpture carved by Mother Nature's chisel. These common descriptions of Cappadocia really just tap-dance around the subject. So let's just get this out of the way: Those fascinating "fairy chimneys" evoke nothing so much as anatomically correct erections -- and circumcised ones at that. Imagine what a field day American film censors would have had if George Lucas had succeeded in his original plan to shoot Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace in Cappadocia. Nobody knows who the original inhabitants of the region were, or who first hollowed out shelters in the soft rock of these sheltered ravines and odd "chimneys." But as a largely barren area, central Cappadocia was bypassed by most armies, making it a perfect refuge for the early Christians following in the footsteps of St. Paul, who established the first Christian colonies here. During Byzantine times, Christian chapels and monasteries were hollowed out of the rock, and later these dwellings served as refuge for Christians, persecuted by the Romans. The natural land formations and huge expanses of silence are just a part of the mystery of the region. As an incubator for Christian philosophy, the monasteries, cave dwellings, and feats of underground engineering are a testament to human ingenuity. Cliff walls of the valleys are riddled with cavities that on closer inspection turn out to be centuries-old dwellings or chapels decorated with colorful frescoes and biblical images. Cappadocian soil is extremely fertile, and a general tour of the region will reveal numerous vineyards. Famous for its local wines, Cappadocia is a major producer; you may want to veer off at a sign for SARAP EVI (wine house) for a leisurely tasting. Programme Day 1: Early departure from Izmir, flight to Kayseri-Nevsehir and continue to Cappadocia region. Visit the underground, eleven-storied city of Kaymakli, see the extraordinary rock formations at Uçhisar and the charming town of Ürgüp with its fairy chimneys. Lunch will be provided in the area, dinner and accommodation at a local hotel.

2 Day 2: You are going to be picked from your hotel early in the morning, usually before sunrise and driven to take-off site. While you are having a light breakfast, you will also see the inflation of the balloon get passenger brief which explains basic rules about balloon flights. Right after the passenger brief, highlight of your Turkey trip will start and you will take-off gently. After taking hundreds of pictures over the valleys of Cappadocia, you will land and celebrate your flight with champagne. After getting your flight certificates you will be back in your hotel around 08:00 am.visit the rock dwellings, chapels and monasteries of the Göreme Valley, Zelve Valley, villages of Çavusin and Avcilar. Lunch will be provided in the area, dinner and accommodation at a local hotel. Day 3: Departure from the hotel and ride to Kayseri-Nevşehir to fly back to Izmir or home town.

SPLENDID COSTAL NATURE OF THE AEGEAN BLUE VOYAGE Bodrum was a small harbor of fishers and spongers until 1960, but nowadays it has acquired fame and became a holiday town attracting much attention. Traditionally made by master craftsmen from Bodrum, gulets were once used by fisherman and sponge divers to transport their catch. Typically designed with a sharp bow, broad beam and rounded aft, they are now designed and fitted with comfort, not trade in mind. Built of pine wood and styled with a pointed fore and rounded aft, gulets differ from the western boats with their design to allow passengers more space on deck, in order to take as much advantage as one can from the pleasant climate of the Aegean. An aft deck for dining and lounging in the shade of a sun awning, and a forward deck with numerous sun beds accentuate the lavish experience of cruising a coast where magic reigns without interruption. All passengers have to do is lie back, gaze at the horizon, and relax. Programme: Day 1: Boarding our Gulet yacht in Bodrum. A short briefing to ensure everyone is familiar with the yacht and what we will do during the week to come. We settle in and have dinner aboard, in the harbor. Our first cruise of the day takes us to Kara Island, just south of Bodrum. Here, we swim, explore the rocky shores and test the waters of the islands hot springs. After lunch, we cruise to the Southern side of the Gulf of Gokova, arriving at Cati in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight in Cati. Day 2: After breakfast, we depart for Yedi Adalari (the Seven Islands), a cruise of just over one hour. Once tucked in behind the islands, we find a quiet anchorage at Kufre Bay and take a walk ashore through a forest of amber trees. This is the Turkey you have dreamed about! There may be the chance of a barbecue dinner tonight. Day 3: Morning swims will become part of your daily regime! We cruise mid-morning to Longoz Bay, our beautiful, pine-forested lunch stop. The next stop after Longoz is Karacasogut, a small village only 25 minutes from Marmaris. For those who wish to spend a night out in Marmaris, a minibus service departs from the town centre. Dinner and overnight in Karacasogut Day 4: Today we cruise north east to Sedir Adasi (Cleopatra Island), the site of ancient Cedrae. For those who wish to explore the ruins ashore and take a swim at Cleopatra beach (the sand was reputedly brought here from Africa especially for Cleopatra), there is an

4 option to do just this. In the afternoon, we cruise to our overnight anchorage on the eastern side of Degirmen Buku. This spot is known locally as English Harbor, as British torpedo boats hid here during World War II. We spend much of our time here swimming, snorkeling and windsurfing. Day 5: After cruising the to the northern side of the gulf, we stop for lunch and a swim at Akbuk, a small bay set at the foot of a huge mountain. Continuing our journey in the afternoon, we arrive at our last stop for the day at Cokertme Bay - another spectacular anchorage.. Tonight we enjoy a farewell dinner together at the Bodrum Harbor. Day 6: After having breakfast in Bodrum, you will leave the Gulet with best wishes to see you again and a pleasant journey homeward
