Visual Systems NEC Installation Projectors 4:3 and 16:9 Screen Support v1.5 NEC installation projectors have been optimized to take advantage of both 4:3 and 16:9 screen types. Incorporating award winning scaling technology developed by NEC allows users the freedom to select an NEC projector and the appropriate screen to maximize their application environment. Via the integrated NEC scaling processor, users will also benefit from the ability to migrate to a different screen aspect ratio in the future while not incurring the cost of purchasing a new projector. Through menu selections, a user can select the screen type in the Screen menu. This selection will also reconfigure the aspect ratio controls in the Aspect Ratio menu so that the available modes will properly support the use of both 4:3 and 16:9 sources on the screen type that was selected. *Installation models with these features: GT5000/6000/6000R *NEC s integrated scaling processor uses NEC Advanced AccuBlend TM technology Explanation To set the projector up for a desired screen type you need to tell the projector s integrated scaling processor the screen type that will be used in the application. Position (vertical image/screen position) One of the benefits of NEC using 4:3 panels is that it allows you to take advantage of the unused portion of the larger panel when displaying in 16:9, 1.85:1 or 2.35:1 screen mode. When 16:9, 1.85:1 or 2.35:1 is selected for a screen type, only the middle portion of the 4:3 panel is used vertically. This allows you to adjust the image up and down on the unused portion of the 4:3 panel enabling for greater flexibility in vertical screen position.
