FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT The whole F.F. equipment, consisting of the bodywork, the water/foam tank and the fire pump, is fixed on a sub-frame mounted on the chassis frame that allows to reduce the vibrations from the rough terrain. This sub-frame is connected to the chassis members by elastic silent-block joints. The great advantage of this system realised by IVECO Mezzi Speciali assures the perfect stability of the entire superstructure and therefore by this technical configuration, the system avoid any transmission and influence of transversal/longitudinal forces or oscillations coming from the chassis members torsion directly to the body, tank and pump, coming during operation on off-road conditions. By utilising this system the bodywork, the tank and the pump unit remain constantly parallel to the ground independently of the transversal and longitudinal movements of the chassis s frame and wheels position. 7 BODYWORK Construction Storage lockers Working deck Ladder Deck rail Superstructure made in ALU-FIRE SYSTEM, with body frame made completely by high quality aluminium extrusion profiles connected with special joints with screw and without any welding, and properly panelled by light alloy sheets. By this new conception, manufacturing process Iveco Magirus get a body-work entirely made of aluminium, whose main advantages are: Longer lasting; Very low maintenance, because any corrosion is completely avoided; Bigger reserve of usable carrying capacity, because bodywork is lighter; Flexibility in setting up internal lockers partitions; Easiness of repair in case of eventual accident. The vehicle is provided with 7 (seven) storage lockers Nr. 6 side lockers (three on each side of the vehicle), closed by anodised light alloy roller shutters with wide handle grip and internal automatic illumination. These storage lockers are provided with separate compartment for each type of equipment and fixing devices to contain safely and easily reach the ancillary materials supplied with the vehicle. Nr.1 rear storage locker, closed by anodised light alloy roller shutter with wide handle grip and internal automatic illumination. This rear storage locker contains the fire pump. This new type of roller shutters assures a better safety to the operator during the utilisation because it is possible to stop it at every position. Moreover they are water-proof and dust-proof. The surface of the roof is completely covered with light alloy anti-slip chequered plates in order to allow a safe walking-on. At the rear of the body a retractable ladder with anti-slip treads allows to give access to the roof of the vehicle. On the sides of the upper deck for safety, made of light alloy. WATER TANK Material Fixing Equipment Square tank integrated in the bodywork, made of AISI 316 L stainless steel, or as alternative on high quality GRP, both suitable to prevent any kind of corrosion and deterioration. The tank is mounted on a sub-frame, which is elastically secured to the chassis frame by means of Silent-block joints, to prevent the mutual transmission of tensional shocks. Body and impellers are made of bronze, with stainless steel shaft, completely corrosion proof. Rear mounted into the pump compartment. The pump it s coupled to the vehicle s engine via a full power PTO, pneumatically engage-able from inside the cabin. Pump output: L/min. at 10 bar (suction from tank); 350 L/min. at 40 bar. Fittings: n.1 suction inlet Ø 4 complete with blind cap and chain ; n.2 medium pressure outlets Ø 2½ fitted with control valves, blind caps and chains, couplings according to customer requirement; n.1 high pressure outlet Ø1½ fitted with ball valve, permanently connected with the hose reel; n.1 tank filling/suction connection; n.1 drain plug. Control panel: Pump is equipped with all necessary instruments and controls properly grouped and displayed in visible position on the control panel, located in the pump compartment comprising of: n.1 vacuometer; n.2 manometers (one for Medium Pressure and one for High Pressure); n.1 pump revolutions counter; n.1 pump hour counter; n.1 electric water tank level indicator (leds type); speed regulator (throttle control device) for the vehicle s engine; spot light for night operations. 10 FOAM PROPORTIONER Model/ Type: Flow rate: Iveco Magirus mod. IFP-120 around the pump type, adjustable for the production of water/foam compound mixture, suitable for any kind of foam compounds. It allows to mix water and foam from 0% up to 6% by manual control. 120 L/min. allowing to supply the amount of foam mixture necessary for simultaneous operation of all vehicle s outlets. 11 EMERGENCY ELECTRICAL EQ. In addition to the standard electrical equipment, the following units are provided: Revolving beacons / Light Bar N.2 red or blue colour light flashing beacons front located on the roof of the cabin. N.1 red or blue colour light flashing beacon at the rear of the body. As alternative solution (on request) a bar can be fitted instead of the beacons. Alarm system N.1 two-tone electrical siren with P.A. system and microphone in the cab. Lockers lights N.1 ceiling lamp set for each pump compartment, equipped with automatic ignition and protected by grilles. Search light N.2 search lights Ø 200 mm - 70 W, one can be front mounted on the cab (right side) and the other located at rear on top of body, both fed by the vehicle s battery by means of suitable plugs. Fog lights N.2 fog lights located in the front of the cabin. Battery charging system (Rapid Start Kit): The vehicle is provided with a special electrical system, working at 220/230V 50 Hz, through an electric cable and quick-release self-ejecting plug, automatically released at starting the vehicle s engine. This system is working when the vehicle is parked allowing an Automatic battery recharging keeping the vehicle s batteries always charged at 100% and ready to work.
