1 BI-300 Barcode configuration and commands Manual
2 1. Introduction This instruction manual is designed to set-up bar code scanner particularly to optimize the function of BI-300 bar code scanner. Terminal setting can be done by Pidion Scan Program in connection with PC/PDA and setting of volume and function of terminal can be done by scanning bar code. This manual will instruct the method for BI-300 barcode scanner selection without using Pidion Scan program Setting Up 1 Scan START bar code. 2 Enter into setting mode by sound of operational tone in 1 second interval. 3 Scan the desired SET bar code. 4 Complete by scanning END bar code. When set-up is succeeded, one beep will sound to confirm success and When set-up is failed, lamp on the left will blink with orange light and will beep twice. [Setting Up] Scan START bar code Scan the desired SET bar code Scan END bar code 2
3 Configuration Set Barcode Phase Bar Code Remark START SET END 2. Setting up the scan mode of scan button Scan mode can be set up for scan buttons 1 SINGLE: One bar code is scanned for each time scan button is pressed. 2 MULTIPLE: Once the scan button is pressed laser emission continues to and able to read on bar codes consecutively but will not read the same bar code that has been read once before. Press scan button one more time to stop laser emission. 3 CONTINUOUS: When scan button is pressed once laser emission continues and reads on bar codes consecutively. Press scan button one more time to stop laser emission. 4 TIMEOUT: Time interval for bar code to be read in MULTIPLE/CONTINUOUS mode can be controlled. SET POINT VALUE: 0~9999 UNIT: ms (1/1000 of 1 second) BASIC SET POINT: 2222ms 3

5 3. Volume Control Volume of beep can be set up to 4 phase s Off/Low/Medium/High. Configuration Set Barcode Phase Bar Code Remark START OFF SET LOW MEDIUM HIGH END [TIP] Basic modes are marked in bold letters. 5
6 4. Setting up Time Time can be set up on terminal. Year, month, day, hour, minute, second and day of the week is to be set up respectively. 1 YEAR: Year can be set up on the terminal. Standard year is 1900s and enter the desired numbers without Only the numbers 70~255 entered otherwise setting will be cancelled. (Example) When you enter bar codes in the order of [START], [YEAR], [1], [0], [9], [END], the year on the terminal will change to MONTH: Month can be set up on the terminal Numbers 0~11 represents months 1~12. Number months 0 January 1 February 2 March 3 April 4 May 5 June 6 July 7 August 8 September 9 October 10 November 11 December Only the numbers 0~11 to be entered otherwise setting will be cancelled. (Example) When you enter bar codes in the order of [START], [MONTH], [1], [END] month on terminal will change to February. 3 MDAY: Days of the month can be set up on the terminal. Numbers 1~31 represents days 1~31. Only the numbers 1~31 to be entered otherwise setting will be cancelled. 4 HOUR: Hour can be set up on the terminal. 6
7 Numbers 1~23 represents hours 1~23 and 0 represents 24 hour. Numbers 0~59 represents 0~59 minutes. Only the numbers 0~59 should be entered otherwise setting will be cancelled. 6 SECOND: Seconds can be set up on the terminal. Numbers 0~59 represents 0~59 seconds Only the numbers 0~59 should be entered otherwise setting will be cancelled. 7 WDAY: days of the week can be set up on the terminal. Numbers 0~6 represent Sunday to Saturday. Number week 0 Sunday 1 Monday 2 Tuesday 3 Wednesday 4 Thursday 5 Friday 6 Saturday Only the numbers 0~6 to be entered otherwise setting will be 7

9 5. Prefix/Suffix In order to allow character to each bar code value, functions can be edited. 1 PREFIX: Able to grant characters and symbols in front of bar code value. (Example) When bar code is entered in the order of [START], [PREFIX], [A], [B], [END] the characters AB will be placed in front of each bar code. 10 6. Setting Up Bar Code Symbol Bar code symbols can be set up. Scan ON/OFF bar code after scanning the bar code on bar code symbols. (Example) To set up and use with UPC-A Leading zero symbol, enter [START], [UPC-A Leading zero], [ON], [END] For symbols on bar code below, enter set point after scanning the symbol bar code. 1 Supplementcode Basic Set Point: 0 Number Description 0 Disable: Will not recognize supplement code Decode: Must recognize Supplementcode in order 1 to be recognized as correct bar code. Autodiscriminat: With or without the 2 Supplementcode, will recognize bar code. Only the numbers 0~2 to be entered otherwise setting will be cancelled. 2 Interleaved 2 of 5 Length Min: Set up minimum cognition length Basic Set Point: 3 Numbers 0~255 to be entered otherwise setting will be cancelled. (Example) In order to set up minimum cognition length of Interleaved 2 of 5 Length Min to 12, enter [START], [Interleaved 2 of 5 Length Min], [1], [2], [END] 3 Interleaved 2 of 5 Length Max: Set up Maximum cognition length Basic Set Point: 30 Enter numbers 0~255 otherwise setting will be cancelled 4 MSI check digit: Set up Check Digit. It is the method to inspect whether the barcode is correct Basic Set point: Check_1 Basic Set Point: Check_1 10
11 Number Check Digit 0 check_1 1 check_2 Numbers 0~1 to be entered otherwise setting will be cancelled. (Example) To set up MSI check digit to Check 2, enter the bar code in the order of [START], [MSI check digit], [1], [END] MSI check digit algorithm: Modulo_10_10/ modulo_10_11 / modulo_10_12 can be set by check digit algorithm. Basic Set point: modulo_10_10 Number Check digit algorithm 0 modulo_10_10 1 modulo_10_11 2 modulo_10_12 Enter numbers 0~2 otherwise setting will be cancelled. 16 OFF END [TIP] Basic modes are marked in bold letters. 7. Select your personal identification number Personal Identification Numbers can be selected in connection with Bluetooth. Setting Personal Identification Numbers can be up to 4 digits. 17 8. Delete Memory All the data stored in the terminal can be deleted. Configuration Set Barcode 단계 바코드 비고 START SET ERASE DATA END [Warning] Store data separately for when memory is deleted it can delete all the data. 9. Set up Energy Saving Mode Energy saving mode can be selected for power saving on terminal. When terminal is not used for specific time it will automatically change to energy saving mode. Entering to energy saving mode can be set to 1~10 minutes and when 0 is selected it does not enter into energy saving mode. Basic Set point: 3 minutes Numbers 0~10 to be entered otherwise setting will be cancelled.
