3 Concept The IDKD - International Diagnostic Course Davos - is in its 40th year. It has witnessed a great success and constant growth, based on an excellent and unique teaching concept and a highly qualified International faculty. The limited space in Davos and the growing need for postgraduate education have fostered the idea of a project called IDKD abroad, with courses in Greece, planned as a smaller version of the IDKD in Davos. 12 different workshops will cover the medical imaging approach to the diagnosis of chest and heart diseases. Furthermore, interventional techniques will be discussed. IDKD is organ-based with annually changing topics, offering Workshops with an interactive teaching program. Workshop rooms are equipped with computers allowing individual casestudy. Participants rotate in groups of some 40 students through a total of 12 workshops, each one consisting of 3 sections: - Short introductory lecture, presented by an International expert, explaining the general imaging approach to elucidate the diagnostic problems examined; - Individual study of case material in groups of 3 on the PC; - Discussion of the cases among faculty members and students. Highlight-lectures will accompany the teaching program. An Exhibition of selected imaging industries will present relevant technical information and expert advice. The full Syllabus of the IDKD Davos 2007 will be offered to students and will complete the educational program.
