1 PR012/16 14 February 2016 Free MTR Rides and More for Lucky Birthday Stars Each Month Under MTR Happy Birthday Happy Journey Programme As Hong Kong celebrates Yan Yat, or Everyone s Birthday today (14 February 2016), MTR brings special Happy Birthday greetings to all members of the community. It also took the opportunity to announce its new Happy Birthday Happy Journey Programme for Hong Kong Identity Card (HKID) holders. The new programme will start in April A lucky draw will be held each month to identify a drawn date in the following month. HKID holders whose birthday falls on the date drawn will be able to redeem a special Birthday Pack after presenting their HKID bearing the date of their birthday. Each Birthday Pack includes merchant coupons and the following: One specially designed Happy Birthday One-day Pass (which can be kept as a souvenir after use) for one day of unlimited free domestic rides on the MTR network within one month from the date of issue; and One HK$50 MTR Malls Gift Voucher Regardless of how old we are, birthdays are always a special day. We want to add to our customers celebrations this year with the `Happy Birthday Happy Journey Programme, said Ms Jeny Yeung, Commercial Director of MTR Corporation. As birthdays are always best when shared, passengers can use the Happy Birthday One-Day Pass to travel within Hong Kong to celebrate with friends and relatives. To make the day more memorable, we have included in the gift pack a HK$50 MTR Malls Gift Voucher that can be used for purchases made in 11 MTR shopping malls as well as merchant coupons. The first phase of this Programme will run till the end of 2016 and we will announce the details of the second phase later, said Ms Jeny Yeung. The first lucky draw will be held on 22 March 2016 when Chairman of MTR Corporation Professor Frederick Ma, celebrities Mr Eric Tsang Chi-wai and Ms Charmaine Sheh will draw a date in April 2016 to mark the commencement of the Programme. The Drawn Date will be published in newspapers and on the MTR website on or before 25 March Birthday Packs will be available for collection at redemption counters at most MTR stations from 11 am to 6 pm every Sunday or at the Tourist Services counter at Hung Hom Station during weekdays within the relevant birthday month. 3 Annex New MTR Happy Birthday Happy Journey Programme Details Starting from April 2016, a monthly Drawn Date will be picked through a Lucky Draw # to be held before the 25 th of the preceding month. All Hong Kong Identity Card (HKID) holders whose birthday falls on the Drawn Date are eligible to receive one Birthday Pack. The Drawn Date of each month will be published on the MTR website and in newspapers on or before the 25 th day of the preceding month.
