Cemetery is on the left up on a hill. Cemetery has also been called Fox and Chaffin. A lot of obituaries call for the Rash Cemetery and some call for the Fox Cemetery. Pg. 115: GAINESBORO SENTINEL, Gainesboro, TN, Thursday, February 16, 1905: Mrs. Urah (Dicy) Fox, who had been confined for some time with heart trouble, departed this life at her home near Clenny, December 24, 1904, at 9 a.m. She was born May 4, 1840 and was married to Urah Fox in 1863 and made a loving and devoted wife. She leaves a number of children, which are scattered over the distant West and other climes, who mourn her death, and also a true husband that is left to fight the battles of life along. She has been a member of the Christian church for some time and she died in the living triumphs of faith. Her seat in this earthly tabernacle is vacated, her voice is hushed in silence, and her body awaits the resurrection morn. She is gone but not forgotten. Billingsley was born October 29, 1857, died Feb. 2, 1935, age 77 years, 3 months and 5 days. Mr. Billingsley was married to Miss Samantha Jane Davidson on May 3 rd 1886 by Wm. E. Smith. He obeyed the gospel in 1889 under the preaching of Eld. Hiram Pharris and lived a faithful life to the end. He is survived by his wife, one son and three grandchildren, two brothers, John B. She was also known as Ma Vona. She was the mother of six children, John Wesley, Garrett, Everett, Flora, L.A., and Olee Chaffin. She is at rest in the Fox Cemetery located on Flynn's Creek in Jackson County Tennessee.

18 Odell Chaffin Obt. COOKEVILLE Funeral services for Odell Chaffin, 85, of Cookeville, will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21, from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fox Cemetery in Jackson County. The family will receive friends from 5 9 p.m. today, Monday, Aug. 20, at the funeral home. Mr. Chaffin died on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2001, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born on Oct. 31, 1915, in Jackson County to the late Garrett and Jessie Mai Jackson Chaffin. Mr. Chaffin was a self employed radio and TV repairman. He served in World War II. His family includes a sister, Gladys Clinton of Cookeville; a niece, Brenda Bandy of Cookeville; a nephew, Gary Clinton of Cookeville; a great niece, Bracie Clinton of Cookeville; a great nephew, Michael Bandy of Lexington, Ky.; and a special friend, Ruby Smith of Cookeville. Mr. Chaffin was a farmer in Clenny, Jackson County Tennessee. His farm was located near Fox Cemetery where he is buried. Riley Columbus Chaffin died December 4, 1922, after a brief illness due to a log striking him. Pneumonia developed after a bone did not set well. He is buried in Fox Cemetery next to his wife, who died later in Ethel Beatrice (Woodall) Hansen Obt. Rites Held Today For Mrs. Ben Hansen, 26: Rites for Mrs. Ethel Beatrice Hansen, 26, were held this afternoon at the Whitson Funeral Home chapel, with L. N. Moody, minister of the Church of Christ, officiating. Mrs. Hansen died at the home of her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. H. R. Woodall, 200 Dyer Street, Tuesday night following an illness of two years.

Flatt was called away from earth Friday evening about 6:30 o clock at the home of J. W. Billingsley in the Seventh district of this county. He had been in ill health for about 2 or 3 months while his health was failing for more than a year, he had only been confined to his bed for 2 months. Infirmities of age was the main cause of his death we suppose. Mr. Flatt was born Oct. 6, 1841, making his stay on earth, 90 years, 1 month and 28 days. He was married to M. M. Whitefield, Aug. 16, His wife departed this life July 5, He leaves to mourn his death Mrs. J. W. Billingsley, with whom he lived, of Bloomington Springs; Mr. Ridley Flatt and Mrs. Jonas Ragland, of Gainesboro, TN, Mrs. Fannie Chaffin, of Chestnut Mound; Mrs. Vina Hoover of Lebanon, TN, and several grandchildren and other relatives. He was an old Confederate soldier, who fought and made his way through many a battle and came out alive. He was a true and faithful soldier of the Cross too, and fought through many battles of troubles and trials of life and we all hope he has found rest in yonder home where he has the promise of rest for all who fight their way and remain faithful to the end. He celebrated his 90 th birthday. Among those present were his sisters, Mrs. C. L. Lock and Mrs. Marsh Brown, his daughter, Mrs. J. W. Billingsley, with whom he lives, other relatives and friends were: C. Lock, Mrs. Mag Myers, Mr. & Mrs. J. J. White, of near Cookeville, G. C. Flatt and 4 children, Mrs. Vestil McNabb, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Chesney and family, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Stout and family, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Dyer, Mr. Polk Chaffin and his brother, I. C. Flatt, A. C. Billingsley, Mrs. Mary Carr, Mr. and Mrs. Simon Dyer and son, Louis, Mr. and Mrs. Byrd Billingsley and family, Mr. Sewell Birdwell, Mr. W. S. Jackson and Mr. Boyd Flatt. The bountiful dinner was served on the lawn and very enjoyable day was spent. All departed in the afternoon wishing him many more birthdays. A native of Jackson Dounty, Mrs. Fox had lived in Putnam County for several years. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Jackson County Sentinel, TN: 2 September Uriah Henry Washington Fox Obt. Fox, Uriah H. W.: Memory Uriah H. W. Fox was born in Jackson county, Tennessee, Feb. 27, 1834, lived with his parents, Anderson and Marion Fox, until he was twenty one years of age, when he was married to Sarah Ann Brown, They settled on a farm and tilled the soil as a means by which to the necessities of life in their efforts they were united and things went well for awhile. They had been reasonably prosperous; three children had been born in their home; they had drank of the cup of satisfaction that is in a peaceful married life until most seven years had passed when the bitter draught came in the death of his wife, March 18, In 1863 Feb. 2. he was married to Dicie L. Whitefield. At this time, our county was waging a Civil war in which he was a soldier on the confederate side. They could hope to prosper but little while our country was shrouded in the gloom of war, not withstanding there was love in each heart,??? for the other and a prayer on the lip of each that our country might be at peace and that prosperity might abound. Peace finally came and they soon settled on a farm facing the ruins of our southland caused by four years cruel war and worked diligently to build up the country, to make friends, and to gain a comfortable living to which end they reached. Aside from this twelve children was born in their home of whom seven are living as follows: Mary Chaffin, wife of Henry Chaffin, Wesley Fox, of Madill, Okla., Cora Loftis, Texola, Okla., Lenoard Fox, Oklahoma City, Okla., Cynthia Whitson, wife of Leonard Whitson, and Bee Fox, Cookeville, Tenn., and Vona Chaffin, wife of Columbus Chaffin, Gainesboro, Tenn., Route 3. On Dec., 24, 1904 his second wife departed this life. He remained single until death which came April 29, 1915, after a brief illness of pneumonia, on above date he quietly passed away in the presence of Sidney C. Fox, only son living by his first wife a number of his other children formerly mentioned and a number of other friends. Such preparations were made as were necessary and his remains were quietly laid to rest in the family cemetery on the following day in the presence of a large gathering of relatives and friends, after an appropriate service led by John W. Fox. Death always brings sorrow but we sorrow not as those who have no hope. Our beloved and departed obeyed the Gospel of Christ about 52 years ago and we trust was loyal to the sacred cause until death. This being true eternal life will be his to enjoy forever and a crown will be his to wear that is set with jewels rare. May the Lord bless us all in accepting Christ on the terms of the
