14 Descriptions Our challenging curriculum gives students a rich, balanced education and prepares them to reach the next level in their careers. s in the Master of Nursing Thesis Stream program address advanced nursing theory, research, and practice. For a complete description of all courses please go to the Resources for Thesis Stream Students tab found under the By Program MN Thesis Stream section of the MN website Fees Tuition for both the Master of Nursing is calculated on a course-based fee structure. Therefore, the basis of your program status (part- or full-time), is NOT a factor when calculating your tuition fees. For the Master of Nursing program your tuition is a TERM charge, which is based on the number of enrolled courses in a given term throughout the three terms in the graduate calendar. For example, if you are enrolled as a full-time Master of Nursing student in the Stream and you are enrolled in two courses for the fall term, then you would be charged the equivalent of two units of tuition plus the appropriate ancillary fees. If you are a part-time student in the course stream and you are enrolled in one course for the fall term, then you would be charge the equivalent of one unit of tuition plus the appropriate ancillary fees. In considering the overall tuition cost of your program, you need to multiply the number of required degree or certificate courses by the by posted tuition amount found on the detailed Fees Information page ( The approximate total domestic tuition cost for the MN Stream Program is $12,500 plus ancillary fees. For International students the approximate total tuition cost for the MN Stream is $33,000 plus ancillary fees. Supervision and Advising Developing productive relationships with your research supervisor and supervisory committee is one of the most important and rewarding aspects of being a graduate student in the Master of Nursing Thesis Stream program. The Yeates School of Graduate Studies has produced a guide to help Ryerson s graduate community of students, supervisors, program directors and others involved in graduate supervision understand their roles and responsibilities. Please use the following link to download the Graduate Supervision document Note that this document was developed by the Admissions and Studies Committee of the Yeates School of Graduate Studies to provide a guide to the roles and responsibilities of graduate students, supervisors, program directors, and others involved in graduate supervision at Ryerson 13

15 University. It is modeled on policies and guidelines in use at many other Canadian universities, and draws in particular on the policies and procedures of other Ontario universities. The underlying principle is one of mutual respect for students, faculty, and staff in a university environment governed by traditional standards of research and academic integrity, without prejudice or discrimination. Within this context, the graduate student, the supervisor, and members of the supervisor committee (where appropriate) assume certain responsibilities and obligations. The policy is neither exhaustive nor exclusive and should be viewed in the context of normal circumstance in the Master of Nursing program. These guidelines should be viewed as complementary to the policies that pertain to rights and responsibilities of members of the Ryerson community, including the Student code of Conduct, the Graduate Appeals Policy, the Discrimination and Harassment Prevention Policy, the Policy on Ownership in Student Work in Research and the Faculty and Staff Ownership of Research Results Policy.
