8 BRABUS GmbH is founded in Bottrop, NRW, Germany by Bodo Buschmann.

9 The first successfully delivered special series for specialized cars comes from Sixt: the E 190 Baby Benz is delivered 200 times.

10 CRD Car Research and Development GmbH is founded to make the BRABUS-knowledge available to other manufacturers.

11 The first BRABUS-world record is established: aerodynamic modifications enable the E-Class sedan (W 124) to reach a drag-coefficient of 0,26.

12 In 1986 the company moves into its new headquarters in Bottrop, Germany and significantly increases its capacity.

13 In 1987 the VDAT e.v. the first German Assiociation of Tuning Companies is founded. Bodo Buschmann, CEO of BRABUS, is elected President of the association.

14 BRABUS 6.9 l V12 Displacement Cylinders Power Torque 6.9 l (7.3l) V kw / 509 HP 710 Nm / 523 lb-ft In 1992 the BRABUS-engineers take engine-tuning to a new level: they develop a 6.9 l V12 engine which delivers 374 kw / 509 hp and 710 Nm / 523 lb-ft torque. The engine becomes available to BRABUS customers in the E 500 (W 124) in 1993.

15 In 1994 BRABUS becomes the official Tuning-Partner of Bugatti, shortly before the manufacturer of Supersports-cars is bought by VW.

16 In 1995 the first BRABUS carbon-fibre brake system is introduced, the S-Class (W 140) is presented in a stretched version, and a V8 Engine is developed for the C-Class (W 202).

17 Another world-record is established by the BRABUS E V12 in 1996: the fastest limousine in the world is powered by the a newly developed 7.3 l engine delivering 582 hp and 772 Nm / 568 lb-ft torque. The record-breaking top-speed is 330 km/h / 205 mph.

The suction and the outlet section of both 3-ventile-cylinder heads are flow-optimized and finetuned with two special camshafts according to the displacement. The modification is completed by a back pressure lowering metal-catalytic converter (four monoliths with a full OBD II suitability). Furthermore a special exhaust gas turbocharger is built in with a more effective intercooler.

42 Engines & Engine Upgrades The BRABUS ECOPowerXtra label stands for powerful and durable performance tuning for Mercedes CDI models. The focus of development is and will be on CO2 emission with increase of torque at the same time. The rule more torque = fewer revolutions per minute, fewer revolutions per minute = reduced consumption applies. Currently BRABUS engineers are developing tuning-solutions for all new Mercedes-Benz Bluetec-Models. The first products are market-ready since early 2008.

In order to convert the Mercedes-Benz Viano into a BRABUS Supercar, a whole new cabin is created, and Maybach seats, a movable 32 flat screen TV and a completely new audio-system, a touchscreen. and even a coffee-maschine are integrated to create a unique travelling experience.
