8 RAINSTAR TVR 20 and TVR 60: Power and economy in one drive unit The new radial full-flow economy turbine TVR 20 (T models) and TVR 60 (E models) with the unique Vario nozzle is a power pack and energy saver in one. Extremely low pressure loss helps to save money, particularly when low and water-saving precipitation rates are applied. Maximum use of output is achieved by direct flow from the Vario nozzle onto the impeller. At maximum and minimum nozzle opening the full stream flows over the turbine s impeller. This ensures highest efficiency and minimum pressure loss with any flow rate. Precise regulation and a large performance range with possibility of high retraction speeds are further advantages. Computer-controlled regulation Regulation of turbine is controlled electronically. The Vario nozzle keeps the retraction speed precise from the beginning to the end of the strip, with optimum pressure utilisation. Vario nozzle with infinitely variable opening The full stream flows over the impeller both at minimum and maximum nozzle opening. Comfortable changing of gears with precise shifting gate and display of the selected gear Safe and comfortable gearshifting. The safety lock of the clutch lever prevents a changing of gears with the drive engaged. Safety has priority! Optimal placement of the turbine Because the turbine is mounted directly on the reel shaft, the water flow is not deflected and the high efficiency preserved.

9 High tech in the irrigation control system Transmitter box SMS 4210 Option You can operate your RAINSTAR most conveniently and time-saving. You can request information on the operational status, start and stop the irrigation machine with your cellular service. There is no easier way to irrigate more efficiently. In addition, you will immediately get a message in case of a malfunction. The following information is sent to you by SMS: RAINSTAR running End of irrigation Retraction speed m/h Laid-down PE-pipe length Fault Messages: Low Pressure, Low Battery, Power ON and further reasons for causing the RAINSTAR to stop. ECOSTAR 4000 S Standard BAUER ECOSTAR 4000 S easy to operate at the touch of a button. An illuminated 4-line display shows the operational status of the irrigation system. Through permanent comparison of set-point and actual value of the retraction speed the crops are irrigated precisely. Solar panel and 12 V battery guarantee sufficient power supply. Therefore the measurements are not affected by dirt on the PE-pipe or similar. ECOSTAR 4200 Option BAUER ECOSTAR 4200 offers following additional features: Built-in precision clock automatic start time input Input of four different speed zones on one strip Recording and totalling of overall irrigation time very important information for the irrigation management. ECOSTAR shut-off sensor The shut-off sensor is mounted fail-safe and protected against unintentional actuation underneath the drive cover. Double safety: At the end of the irrigated strip the drive gearbox is also disconnected mechanically.

10 RAINSTAR Swivel pipe reel with builtin hydraulic supports The reel can be turned into every desired position. The sturdy spades are pressed into the soil with the hydraulic system (E models) and fix the RAINSTAR immovably even at high pulling forces. Winding gear The winding mechanism guides the PE-pipe gently, precisely and evenly through all windings and layers. PTO rewind If needed, the PE-pipe can be rolled up quickly with the PTO shaft. Standard on all models. Hinged spades The spades of hydraulicoperated telescopic machine supports can be turned by 180. This feature gives extra ground clearance. Important for setting down the cart (E models except for 4W design). Convincing arguments Drive cover in modern style The new closed driver cover offers maximum protection. It is made of ABS material mainly used in the automotive industry. Drive cover with built-in solar panel Computer and solar panel are placed at user-friendly height. A safety lock prevents gear change while drive is connected. Safety is a matter of priority for BAUER. Low centre of gravity Infinitely variable track width and low centre of gravity make the RAINSTAR safe to manoeuvre even on rough and hilly terrain. Further benefits: track width indication and a drawbar length that is also sufficient for large tractors. 4-wheel tandem axle The tandem axle provides uniform weight distribution, low soil pressure, and protects the crop particularly when laying down the PE-pipe on the field. PE-pipe blow out The water left in the pipe is blown out with the compressor. Lower pipe weight makes pull-off possible also with smaller tractors. An empty PE-pipe means up to 4,200 kg lower overall weight. Electric shut-off valves At overpressure water inflow is closed by a slowclosing electric shut-off valve, at underpressure a flow control turns off the pump. Combined shut-off valve No matter if overpressure or underpressure, the combined version stops the RAINSTAR automatically either way.

13 Irrigation in its finest form Boom cart AS 50 / AS 32 Spray booms apply a particularly fine mist that equally protects the plants and the soil because it works already with as low as 3.2 bar supply pressure. This means economical use of energy and water. The AS 50 boom cart matches exactly with RAINSTAR E models and lays a gentle veil of moisture on strip widths up to 72 m. The boom cart is made of high-quality steel and aluminium elements but in spite of its light construction its stability is excellent. Burdening weights continuously balance the boom parallel to the ground. With infinitely variable hydraulic height adjustment for ground clearance from 1.3 m to 2.3 m (AS 50) the system is ideal also for higher crops. Spray boom AS 32 is designed for RAINSTAR T machines in particular. It covers strip widths up to 50 m. A compact unit to transport, simple to handle For transport the folding arms of the AS 50 or AS 32 are loaded on the RAINSTAR. A single operator easily opens up or closes the boom in only a few minutes. For the drive from one irrigated strip to the next the opened up boom is hoisted just like the wheel carts and requires no further handling. Spray nozzles As low as 0.8 bar nozzle pressure is already sufficient to produce exceptionally fine and gentle rain that protects plants and soil equally. The further advantages are significantly lower pressure requirement (savings up to 4 bar), uniform distribution, and low sensitivity to wind. 360 swivel aid on AS 50 With the swivel aid the system can be adjusted precisely to irregular fields. Roads running diagonally along the borders of fields are not obstructed by projecting boom arms. Ideal also for avoiding trees, poles and other obstacles within the field. 14 RAINSTAR Protective to soil and plants Crop-saving slope compensator Keeps the sprinkler properly inclined on uneven ground and particularly also during final pipe rewind. Saves the plants from damage by water jet. Laying down the PE-pipe in row crops For driving in the field the RAINSTAR S wheel track is adjusted exactly to the plant row spacing. A special pipe guide ensures that the PE-pipe is laid down in a straight line between the plant rows. Tractor, RAINSTAR, and cart move in exactly the same tracks without damaging the crop.
