5 HISTORY&LEGISLATION Turkey has been using the TIR System since Legisla6on: TIR Conven6on Communiqué Rela6ng to TIR Precedures Customs Code No Implemen^ng Provisions of Customs Code Circulars transport companies as of 15 June 2015 in the TIR System of Turkey. Turkey is the one of the major players and the #1 country in terms of issuence of TIR Carnets. (approximately % 20 of total TIR Carnets) 5

23 5- Computerization of Certificate of Approval TIR Conven6on Ar6cle 12; In order to fall within the provisions of sec3ons (a) and (b) of this Chapter, every road vehicle must as regards its construc3on and equipment fulfil the condi3ons set out in Annex 2 to this Conven3on and must have been approved according to the procedure laid down in Annex 3 to this Conven3on.
