1 Program for Silk Road Cuisine Display-Yangzhou Week 2015 is the 2500 th anniversary of Yangzhou City. To promote the cuisine culture of Yangzhou as the source of Huaiyang Cuisine and popularize Yangzhou City to the world, Yangzhou Municipal People s Government actively applied for the right to host the Silk Road Cuisine Display-Yangzhou Week and successfully won over it. With strong support from all related organizations, the Beijing press conference for the event on May 15 th has obtained the expected result. The overall program for the event is as below. Guiding Ideology and Importance. To respond to the national strategy of One Belt and One Road, give full play to Yangzhou s advantage of public diplomacy and take advantage of Yangzhou s connection with Marco Polo, Yangzhou tries to strengthen the communication and cooperation with Silk Road cities via non-governmental exchanges with the medium of cuisine. We believe the Silk Road Cuisine Display-Yangzhou Week will help to promote Yangzhou s reputation and influence in the world, boost the development of related industries like food, tourism and culture industry and the construction of Yangzhou city.
