2 Presented by Application Instructions & Guidelines Every 15 Minutes Scholarships are given to eligible seniors each year in the form of monetary grants to help defray the cost of continuing education. The scholarship funds are derived from the Every 15 Minutes High School Charity Golf Tournament & Fundraiser. Seniors planning to continue their education at a Trade School, Community College, College or University should carefully follow the guidelines set forth in the instructions below. Winners of the Every 15 Minutes Scholarships will be announced prior to their high school graduation. The decision of the Promoting Resources In Drug Education, Inc. selection committee will be final. Eligibility: Any graduating senior from Huntington Beach High School, Edison High School, Marina High School or Ocean View High School. Seniors who have been directly involved in the Every 15 Minutes programs will be granted preference. This, however, does not preclude any students who have not been involved in the Every 15 Minutes programs from competing. Criteria: The Scholarship Selection Committee will use the following as guidelines for the selection of recipients for the Every 15 Minutes Scholarships. Academics: Community Involvement: School Participation: Essay: Interview: Student should have a 2.8 or better GPA for combined freshman thru senior years. Student s outside community activities & work experience. School activities and involvement A one (1) page typed written essay describing their contribution to the prevention of impaired driving and or how the EVERY 15 MINUTES program has helped you make better life choices regarding drinking and driving. (The essay and a personal photograph are to be presented by the semi finalist at their respective interview with the PROMOTING RESOURCES IN DRUG EDUCATION, INC. SCHOLARSHIP SELECTION COMMITTEE.) Semi finalist will be interviewed by the Scholarship Selection Committee. Semi finalist will be selected by the Career Counseling /Academic Staff of their respective high school.

3 The semi finalist list will then be submitted by the respective high school to PROMOTING RESOURCES IN DRUG EDUCATION, INC. for the interview and selection of the finalist recipient. Recommendation letters: Please attach two letters of recommendation, one from a teacher and one from a supervisor of your community activities and/or work experience, which you feel represents either the majority of your time or most important activity. Assistance with Application: Consult your Career Counseling school representative.
