SHARED COMPUTING RESOURCES OF LABRI MANAGED BY THE SYSTEMS TEAM 153 C.1 Shared computing resources of LaBRI managed by the Systems team These resources consist in servers, workstations and personal computers, printers and a substantial network infrastructure. Network printers We manage, behind a VLAN and a dedicated server, a dozen color and B&W printers (4 on each floor of the LaBRI building); a dozen network printers for individual researchers or for small groups. Users workstations We count 273 laptops, of which about twenty on loan; 197 fixed (table top) stations, of which about twenty on loan. Fixed stations that are deemed exposed are encrypted, as are all the new laptops. Servers maintained by the Systems team, for an autonomous handling of network services and network security 27 physical servers, in two servers rooms, including: a cluster firewall server, a cluster file server, a cluster authentification service, a cluster DNS service, a cluster consolidation service for virtual servers underlinux Redhat KVM, a mail server with replicated data storage, a back-up service on hard drives and an archiving service on tape. 26 virtual servers virtuels of various types: printing service, DNS service, authentification service, wifi network management service, SVN service, web services, etc. Particular services website hosting: institutional and personal pages; project homepages under VirtualHosts (122 websites); hosting of SVN repositories: 329 personal and group repositories. To this list, we need to add a group of VLANs for the first elements of the LSD platform (processing of massive data) currently under construction: VLAN DMZ USERS Cloud, VLAN DMZ USERS Openstack Administration, VLAN DMZ USERS Cloud administration server. C.2 Technological platforms On top of these ordinary computing resources, LaBRI also maintains and develops technological platforms: the first elements of the LSD platform, a multi-year project, which is scheduled to formally start in October 2014 (when funding from the Regional Council will be confirmed), and for which we already started investing: 17 servers, in the form of 4 POWEREDGE C6000 racks containing each 4 POWEREDGE C6220 servers, and 1 POWEREDGE R420server; specialized equipment for research in imaging and vision (the complete processing chain, from acquisition to restitution, especially adapted to medical imaging applications), in algorithms for fleets of distributed vehicles (drones in our applications), and in robotics: a 3D printer with medical precision, a lower-end 3D printer, a hand-held 3D scanner, two cameras and microphones embedded in wearable material, an eyetracker, ground and airborne drones, kid-size humanoid robots, specialized sound processing devices, a dedicated biological monitoring system. C.3 Access to external platforms LaBRI members also have access to computing platforms shared with other centers. Virtual and augmented reality, at the Inria Center and at the IOGS, dedicated computing resource in bio-informatics, at the CBiB, dedicated computing resources for high-performance computation, in the form of Plafrim (an experimental platform for HPC research, shared with Inria and IMB, with LaBRI participation in the steering body) and MCIA (Mésocentre de calcul intensif aquitain).

SERVER HOSTING 155 C.4 Server hosting To complete the picture, LaBRI hosts a number of servers for our partners: Grid5000, hosting of a 42U rack, GR5K bridgehead for Bordeaux, CNRS DR15, data replication, IMB, data replication. We will (by the end of 2014) host a VLAN for a technology transfer projects (team Progress). During the period of examination, we also hosted servers that are now dismantled: VLAN Polinum, until 2014 (a region-supported project on the digitalization) 3 clusters for Grid5000, a set of racks for the services of the Futurs Inria Center.
