Students learn the rules and regulations of the national electrical code concerning commercial and industrial wiring in projects and on-the-job training. Students acquire knowledge and skills in safety, electrical theory, tools, codes, installation of electrical equipment, electrical services, alternating current and direct current motors, conductor installation, and electric lighting installation Advanced Interior Design (R) 1 credit Gr: Prerequisite: Geometry, Interior Design, Principles of Architecture and Construction Architectural Design or Advanced Architectural Design Recommended Description: Advanced Interior Design is a project based, technical laboratory course that includes students participating in developing construction documents, budgeting materials, rendering and free-hand drawing skills, understanding of green architecture, and design development process. Students will complete a series of design drawings using computer aided drafting software. 2 88445 Electrical Technology (R) 2 credits Gr: Description: 2 credit, First year electrical trades consists of electrical theory, rules and regulations of the national electrical codes concerning residential wiring. Practical application of this knowledge will be demonstrated in actual projects using basic tools and materials. Students acquire knowledge and skills in safety, electrical theory, tools, codes, installation of electrical equipment, and the reading of electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications. Upon completion of the course students have the necessary knowledge and skills to install electrical wiring and circuits in a residential or similar structure Interior Design (R) 0.5 credit Gr: Prerequisite: Algebra I, Principles of Architecture & Construction, or Architectural Design Recommended Description: This project-based laboratory course covers the concepts and skills related to successful design in both residential and commercial spaces. The content addresses factors affecting housing construction, interior finishes, principles and elements of design, lighting, space planning, computer aided drafting and technology applications attainment of professional services and related careers in the Architecture and Construction Career Cluster Interior Design (DC) 0.5 credit Gr: Prerequisite: Algebra I, Principles of Architecture & Construction, or Architectural Design recommended Description: This project-based laboratory course covers the concepts and skills related to successful design in both residential and commercial spaces. The content addresses factors affecting housing construction, interior finishes, principles and elements of design, lighting, space planning, computer aided drafting and technology applications attainment of professional services and related careers in the Architecture and Construction Career Cluster Mill & Cabinetmaking Technology I (R) 2 credits Gr: Prerequisite: Principles of Manufacturing. Description: In Mill and Cabinetmaking Technology, students gain knowledge and skills specific to those needed to enter the work force in the area of mill work and cabinet manufacturing and installation. The student may also apply these skills to professions in carpentry or building maintenance supervision or use the skills as a foundation for postsecondary training or a degree in construction management, architecture, or engineering. 4 88405 Practicum in Architectural Design (LAB) (R) 2 credits Gr: Prerequisite: Architectural Design or Engineering Design & Presentation Recommended Description: 2 credits, Practicum in Architectural Design is an occupationally specific course designed to provide technical instruction in architectural design. The student will learn safety, work ethics, employability characteristics of a successful worker, and ethical and legal practices for careers in the architectural-related workplaces. The student learns the function and application of the tools, equipment, technologies, and materials used in the student's chosen field. Emphasis centers on basic cabinetry, special design cabinets and light commercial applications. Mass production techniques and the use of new and different materials are a part of the cabinetmaking curriculum Practicum in Construction Management (LAB) (R) 3 credits Gr: 12 Prerequisite: Electrical Technology I Description: 3 credits, Practicum in Construction Management II is a continuation of the occupationally specific course designed to provide classroom technical instruction or on- the-job training experiences. Safety and career opportunities are included in addition to work ethics and job-related study in the classroom Practicum in Construction Management I (CP) (R) 3 credits Gr: Prerequisite: 16 years of age, Architecture & Construction course Description: 3 credits, The Practicum in Construction Management I is an occupationally specific course designed to provide classroom technical instruction or on-the-job training experiences. Safety and career opportunities are included in addition to work ethics and job-related study in the classroom Practicum in Construction Management II (CP) (R) 3 credits Gr: 12 Prerequisite: Practicum in Construction Management I (CP) Description: 3 credits, Practicum in Construction Management is an occupationally specific course designed to provide classroom technical instruction or on- the-job training experiences. Safety and career opportunities are included in addition to work ethics and job-related study in the classroom Practicum in Interior Design I (CP) (R) 3 credits Gr: Prerequisite: 16 years of age,interior Design or Advanced Interior Design Description: This practicum course is a paid occupationally-specific course for students participating in a coherent sequence of CTE courses in the field of interior design. Students must be gainfully employed by the beginning of the third week of school to remain in the class. Instruction is delivered through career preparation delivery arrangements. Job-specific skilled training is provided through the use of training plans by local training sponsors in areas compatible with identified career goals in interior design. Examples of training stations include furniture stores, interior design firms, and architectural firms. In addition, students are expected to develop knowledge and skills described in one of the training specialization options of either: housing, furnishings, and equipment construction or management services.

5 88181 Practicum in Interior Design II (CP) (R) 3 credits Gr: 12 Prerequisite: Practicum in Interior Design I (CP) Description: This practicum course is a paid occupationally-specific course for students participating in a coherent sequence of CTE courses in the field of interior design. Student must be gainfully employed by the beginning of the third week of school to remain in the class. Job-specific skilled training is provided through the use of training plans by local training sponsors in areas compatible with identified career goals in interior design. Students are expected to demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills in housing, furnishings, and equipment construction or management services Principles of Architecture and Construction (R) 0.5 credit Gr: 9-12 Description: This course provides an overview to the various fields of architecture, interior design, construction science, and construction technology. Students use self-knowledge, educational, and career information to set and achieve realistic career and educational goals. Students learn through the use of training modules to identify career goals in trade and industry areas. Students learn about career opportunities, work ethics and safety. This course will also provide employability characteristics of a successful worker Problems and Solutions II Advanced Architectural Design - (R) 1 credit Gr: Prerequisite: Advanced Architectural Design (R) or (DC) Description: This advanced architecture course allows the student to develop a school-based learning activity in collaboration with the teacher. It provides an in depth, hands-on study of at least one aspect of a selected CAD program. This course will also provide instruction in topics such as career development, safety, and employability characteristics of a successful worker.
