1 How to subscribe to CHF Canada s Online Learning Management System (LMS) 1. Before You Start There are a number of payment options for subscribing to the Learning Management System. If you would like to pay with a credit card, have a MasterCard or Visa card handy. If your co-op or organization is a CHF Canada member, and you would like to have the subscription fee invoiced directly to your co-op or organization, you will need: a. your co-op s unique Access Key. This is the default authentication tool, typically available from CHF Canada s Online Learning Administrator. The Access Key is comparable to a personal identification number (PIN) so if your co-op and/or administrator shares it with you, protect it. b. you will also need to use your co-op s address as part of the authentication process. If you would like to take advantage of the Bulk Purchase option for the subscription and Board Basics course, contact CHF Canada s Online Learning Administrator to set up the purchase. Note: After activating your new account, you will be able to sign in to the LMS right away. While you can update information in your Profile, you will have to wait to the following day to access the Catalogue and register for courses. 2. Setting up your subscription to CHF Canada s LMS The following steps will guide you through the subscription process. You can also refer to the image of the Create Account screen on page 4 to help guide you through this process. 1. Go to the Online Learning section of CHF Canada s Resource Centre at or access the online learning section from the homepage at 2. Under New Users Subscribe Now, which is located in the right-hand side bar, select whether you are a CHF Canada member or non-member. 2 3. Click Subscribe. 4. Read through the information on fees, and payment options and click Next. 5. Follow the information in the guides to disable your pop-up blockers and click Next. 6. Read the instructions on the page and click Next. 7. In the Create Account screen, select your organization (domain) from the drop down list. To do this, scroll down to the CHFC section of the domain list and look for your co-op s or organization s name. For example, CHFC Vista Housing Co-operative. The co-ops/organizations are listed alphabetically in the CHFC section, however, if your co-op or organization s name starts with The your domain will be under CHFC The If your organization is not a member of CHF Canada, please select CHFC Nonmember option for your province or territory. For example, CHFC Non-member Alberta. 4. Next, enter the password you want to use and confirm it by re-entering it. The password is case sensitive and must be a minimum of 6 characters alpha, numeric or a combination of both. 5. Fill in the required fields (*). Enter the address that you would like the LMS and CHF Canada to use to contact you. Please note, if you are using the Group Account option, enter the co-op s address. 6. 3 If you are in Newfoundland/Labrador Choose this time zone America/St. Johns (s/b St. John s, NL) New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, or P.E.I. America/Halifax Ontario or Quebec Manitoba or Nunavut Saskatchewan Alberta British Columbia, the Northwest Territories, or the Yukon America/Montreal America/Winnipeg America/Regina America/Edmonton America/Vancouver 7. Organization Code: Leave this blank. 8. Address: enter your co-op s address (if your co-ops is not a CHF Canada member, enter your personal address information). Where relevant, include your PO Box as well as street location. 9. Click on Privacy Agreement Statement. Read the Privacy Statement and Terms of Use and click Accept. All terms and conditions found in the statement are applicable to CHF Canada members and others who are interested in taking CHF Canada online training even if they are not specifically mentioned. 5 10. Click on Next at the bottom of the screen. 11. On the Pay Options screen, select either Credit Card or Pre-pay Account. Select the prepay account option if you would like CHF Canada to invoice your co-op directly through your co-op s Group Account. a. If you select Pre-Pay Account you will be prompted for your organizations Access Key. Enter it and click OK. From here, continue to Step 11. If you do not already have your co-op s Access Key, but would like to use the Group Account option, please have your co-op manager the Online Learn Administrator at elearning@chfcanada.coop. b. If you select Credit Card and then click OK, you will continue to the Payment Information screen. How to subscribe to CHF Canada s Online Learning Management System 5

6 c. Select credit card in the Payment Options drop down list. 12. After entering the credit card details, click Pay Now to pay the Annual Subscription fee of $40.00 plus tax*. Please note the list price includes the $40 fee, plus the applicable taxes in your region (either HST or GST). If you think you are being charged an incorrect amount of tax please contact the Online Learning Administrator before you proceed. 8 14. Activate your account by clicking on the link provided within the or by copying and pasting it into your internet browser. How to subscribe to CHF Canada s Online Learning Management System 8

9 15. Sign in using your Username (AA provided in the ) and the password you entered when creating your account. 16. Click on Profile in the upper right corner of the screen or under Getting Started on the left of the screen. Enter your Username (AA ) in the User number field (immediately below Surname). You can change your contact and password if you wish. Make sure that all other information is correct. Click OK at the bottom of the screen to save any changes. Note: While you can Sign in to the LMS right away, you will not be able to view or register for courses until the next day.
