2 Administrative Accomplishments: Since 1999 as an administrator at the University of Regina, I have completed several initiatives that will alter our direction for generations to come: Oversaw from inception to completion (on-schedule, on-budget) the establishment of a $38 million, 700-bed residence complex. Drafted legislation to create tax credits for employers offering co-operative education placements. Expanded co-operative education from 700 placements/year to Obtained HRDC funding for development of Aboriginal Co-operative Education. Developed a strategy for international student recruitment to reach a target of 10% of population (1300 students). Leading, with rest of President s Executive Team, a $75 million fundraising endeavour. Campaign exceeded expectations. Organised a continuing student outreach program involving over 100 volunteers offering tutoring, mentoring and recreational opportunities to inner-city (mostly aboriginal) youth. Successfully lobbied for legislation instituting educational benefits for survivors of veterans. Sponsored enriched summer programs to introduce aboriginal youth and teachers to the university s offerings. Promoted UR Scholars program making the UofR the university of choice for the top high school graduates in the province. Directed revitalization of all university scholarships for greater recruitment and support of scholars. Raised funding to double the amount available to support students in need. Obtained HRDC funding for a pilot project for Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR). Developed a pilot project to achieve an aboriginal representative workforce. Developed a major university-wide program to promote Academic Integrity. Teaching Experience: I have taught Administration, Communication, and Education courses for thirty years at four different universities. I have been responsible for the development of curricula at each institution. 3 In developing curriculum, I have liaised between community and industry leaders, university personnel, students and faculty to assure that programs meet today s needs as well as tomorrow s demands while respecting the reality of the existent resources and the traditions of the disciplines. I have developed and directed co-operative education and internship programs that place students in organizations to conduct field research, train or consult in ways that help improve the organizations overall effectiveness. I have overseen the production of award winning video, film and audio production by students in my courses. As well, I have been involved extensively in the production of instructional video and distance education.
