DEPARTMENT: Administrative Services DIVISION: Purchasing and Contracts AUTHORIZED BY: Frank Raymond CONTACT: Gloria Garcia EXT: 7123 MOTION/RECOMMENDATION: Award RFP /GMG Term Contract for Recycling of White Goods and Scrap Metal to Trademark Metals Recycling LLC, Orlando. (Estimated annual revenue to the County is $10,000.00). County-wide Ray Hooper BACKGROUND: RFP /GMG will provide for recycling services for white goods and scrap metals. White goods are, but not limited to, large worn-out or broken household and/or industrial appliances such as refrigerators, ranges, washers, dryers, water heaters, freezers and other ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Contractor will provide all labor, supervision, materials, supplies, fuel, and equipment to load, pick-up, transport, and recycle discarded white goods in a safe and environmentally sound manner from the Seminole County Osceola Road Landfill and Central Transfer Station. This project was publicly advertised and the County received three (3) submittals in response to the solicitation. One of the firms was considered nonresponsive due to failure to provide the management plan and methodology to support the needs and objectives of the County as required. The Evaluation Committee comprised of Johnny Edwards, Solid Waste Manager, Environmental Services Department; Tom Waters, Environmental Program Manager, Environmental Services Department; Greg Regan, Operations Manager, Environmental Services/Solid Waste evaluated the submittals. Consideration was given to the company's approach, management plan and methodology to support the needs and objectives of the County; proposed revenue to the County; qualifications and experience related to the required services. The agreement shall take place on the date of execution by the County and shall run for a period of three (3) years and, at the sole option of the County, may be renewed for three (3) successive one (1) year periods. This contract is expected to generate approximately $10, in annual revenue to the County. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends that the Board to award RFP /GMG Term contract for Recycling of White Goods and Scrap Metal to Trademark Metals Recycling, LLC, Orlando, Florida.
