10 DESIGN AND SPACE PLANNING SUPPORT INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE Nationwide PROJECT DETAILS PROGRAM SIZE: $15 Million DURATION: 5-Years HDR was selected to support the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) with Architectural Services through an IDIQ contract. The work has varied from Designs, Xeriscaping Studies, Building Surveys, Cost Estimating and TI vs. Shell Cost Breakouts, and Sustainability Consulting Services. The locations have been throughout the United States and in both leased and owned facilities. HDR was instrumental in developing the IRS Intelligent Office Work Arrangements (IOWA) Concept. Utilizing the IRS s precepts, HDR managed the team that developed the IOWA Users Manual, showing alternative furniture selections for each of the Design Elements. The concept was developed to allow space reductions. The manual was intended for the use of field offices around the country interested in implementing the IOWA concept.

11 DESIGN AND SPACE PLANNING SUPPORT PENTAGON Arlington, VA PROJECT DETAILS PROGRAM SIZE: 313,075 SF National Military Command Center 63,710 SF Army Operations Center 69,410 SF Navy DURATION: 3-Years HDR provided architecture, interiors and structural engineering design services for the National Military Command Center, the Army Operations Center, and the Navy/ Marine Operations Center (NOC/MOC). These highly complex spaces required extensive planning as well as substantial modifications to the base building. The facilities also have redundant, uninterruptible power supplies. Utilizing the Enhanced Universal Space Plan (EUSP) which incorporates standard modules of space configurations as well as raised access flooring and redundant electrical / mechanical systems, HDR designed: All command centers at incorporated AT/FP measures including bullet resistance and chemical, biological, and radiological protection. This is a LEED Silver project.

12 FACILITY PLANNING AND DESIGN GSA DISTRICT OFFICE RENOVATION Chicago, IL PROJECT DETAILS PROGRAM SIZE: 500,000 SF DURATION: 3 ½ Years This GSA project was the renovation of a historic building for the Department of Homeland Security. The project modernized and renovated the deteriorated facility -- a ten-story, approximately 500,000 square-foot building, built in 1916, occupying a prominent location on the south edge of Chicago s Loop. HDR provided full architect-engineer design for this project. The renovated building features include secure entrances for the public, waiting rooms, customer service counters, records file rooms, computer rooms, interview rooms, training and support facilities, and general office space and detention and holding areas. It is a LEED Silver facility.

14 PROJECT MANAGEMENT SUPPORT CITIZENSHIP AND IMMIGRATION SERVICES Nationwide PROJECT DETAILS PROGRAM SIZE: $265 Million DURATION: 5 years HDR was contracted to provide project management support for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Project Management Office in Burlington, VT. The support included tracking and fund monitoring of an average 50 ongoing projects nation-wide. HDR had two full-time project managers assisting in the effort. HDR also developed Facilities Connects an automated real property and project management system to support the entire agency. HDR validated all project requirements for scope and cost and then tracked their progress through the build-out and occupancy. The effort required validating requirements, monitoring expenditures and performance through the GSA project management systems.

15 NATURALIZATION SPACE ALLOCATION STANDARDS DHS AGENCIES Nationwide PROJECT DETAILS PROGRAM SIZE: 15 M SF Nation-wide DURATION: NA IMMIGRATION AND CUSTOMS ENFORCEMENT (ICE) HDR developed the ICE Space Standards in 2003 and 2010 for their inventory of owned and leased facilities. The latter task developed space standards and office models for three proto-typical sizes. This included office space for their various programs: Investigations, Detention and Removal, General Counsel, Information Management, and Administration. Critical features were design, modeling, space planning, security (including covert operational security). The charrettes used customer involvement to build trust, thus proto-typical designs were readily accepted by all parties. CITIZENSHIP AND IMMIGRATION SERVICES (CIS) HDR developed the CIS Space Standards in 2003 and 2008 for their inventory of leased facilities. This included office space for their various functional programs: Headquarters, Districts, General Counsel, Field Offices, Processing Centers, Information Management, and Administration. Critical features include design, modeling, space planning, security. Coordination and client buyin were key from the beginning of the project. 16 INTELLIGENCE AND OPERATIONS COORDINATION CENTER, TUCSON SECTOR HEADQUARTERS Tuscon, Arizona PROJECT DETAILS PROGRAM SIZE: $16 Million DURATION: 2 years The Intelligence and Operations Coordination Center is located on the Tucson Sector Headquarters campus in Tucson Arizona, is 25,000 SF, and was completed in January HDR programmed and designed the building with input from both Tucson Sector CBP leadership and the Office of Intelligence in May Construction challenges led USCBP to contract with HDR to perform Construction Management Services. HDR managed construction, equipment installation, and certification of a secure database, secure communications integration, and full stand up of the Intelligence Activities and the Situation Awareness Center.

18 SPACE PLANNING AND DESIGN NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER Lee s Summit, MO PROJECT DETAILS PROGRAM SIZE: 250,000 SF Nation-wide DURATION: 1 ½ Years HDR provided full design and construction monitoring/surveillance services for the renovation and build-out of a 250,000 SF service center that provides nationwide support. The project converted a large storage building with major degradation of the facilities and infrastructure to a modern office complex. The project was a joint Corps of Engineers (Contract) and GSA (Real Estate) effort. The work included; Planning and Programming Charrettes, Adjacency Plans, Design Intent Drawings, and Project Management and Construction Surveillance. HDR assigned a full time professional for the project management and construction surveillance.

19 HEADQUARTERS DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY REAL PROPERTY DATA MANAGEMENT Washington, DC PROJECT DETAILS PROGRAM SIZE: 38,500 properties DURATION: 2 years HDR has provided strategic support to HQ, DHS Office of the Chief of Administration with the management of its real property program comprising of over 38,500 owned and leased assets. HDR updated and is managing the Real Property Information System (RPIS) which contains all of DHS s real property information. The work included design of the Real Property Data Warehouse (RPDW). HDR also developed a program management and performance measure dashboard. HDR analyzed the real property information for portfolio analysis, status changes, condition index and utilization. The work included development and implementation of guidance for management of real property data and guidance for the management of Facility Condition Assessments to include sustainability and energy assessments.
