1 A. Davis CV Updated May CURRICULUM VITAE One who learns from one who is learning drinks from a running stream (Old Siletz Indian proverb) - Educators must be 21st Century Learners Ann W. Davis, Ed.D (Home) 2810 Bedford Street (Cell) Burlington, NC awdavis@uncg.edu FORMAL EDUCATION B.S Middle School and Secondary Education Wingate College M.S.A Ed.S Educational Leadership Educational Administration and Cultural Foundations UNCC UNCG Ed.D Educational Administration and Cultural Foundations UNCG DOCTORAL DISSERTATION Syncing up with the ikid: Portrait of Seven High School Teacher Leaders Transforming the American High School Through a Digital Conversion of Teaching and Learning. The study investigated the journey of seven high school teacher leaders striving to sync up with their students by implementing a one-to-one, mobile computing, teaching and learning, reform initiative. The goal was to encapsulate the framework of change as well as their perceptions of how teaching and learning were affected in order to better inform practitioners contemplating a digital reform strategy. The study found that broad leadership skills are required to implement such an extensive plan and that collaborative professional development with persistent commitment and vision are needed to overcome the teachers sense of urgency, yet fear of failure, when striving to transform instructional methodology.
