Served as intermediate classroom teacher in continuous progress instructional program. Provided leadership as school Site Council Chair and administrative intern. Recruited and selected as teacher trainer for instructional topics including teacher questioning techniques, teaching for critical thinking, and hands-on science instruction. Trainer for district initiatives including Outcomes Based Education, Quality Performance Accreditation, and technology integration. Taught Grades 3-6 in open classroom setting. Served as member of district social studies curriculum and health insurance committees. I have long been interested in the impact that adult professional learning, collegiality and collaboration have on development of organizational culture and on academic achievement and success of students. I am also interested in exploring the link between university-based school leadership preparation programs and actual scope, expectations, and daily practice of the contemporary principalship.
