7 March 7, 2016 GREEN TIP OF THE WEEK "Recycling Button Batteries" Lay button batteries for recycling in a row as wide as your tape. Cover with the tape, turn it all over and tape again. It s fast and makes the batteries safe for fire-free transport to Trail, B.C.. Recycle them at the Stettler Transfer Site, Sobey s, or No Frills. No one can do everything. Everyone can do something. Sponsored by the Heartland Beautification Committee March 14, 2016 GREEN TIP OF THE WEEK "Recycle markers & pens" Stettler Learning Centre is now a collection site to recycle all used pens, mechanical pencils and markers Street, (Hwy 56 North) Stettler No one can do everything. Everyone can do something. Sponsored by the Heartland Beautification Committee

8 March 21, 2016 GREEN TIP OF THE WEEK "A Greener Easter basket" Use a basket, tote bag, gift box or container you have around home for your Easter basket. Fill it with cut-up colorful magazine clippings. Then save it all for next year. No one can do everything. Everyone can do something. Sponsored by the Heartland Beautification Committee March 28, 2016 GREEN TIP OF THE WEEK "Regular soap is best" Overuse of antibacterial ingredients, like triclosan, in soaps is helping create superbugs by increasing antibiotic resistance. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), antibacterial soaps are not necessary, but washing your hands thoroughly with ordinary soap and warm water is one of the most effective ways to ward off infection. No one can do everything. Everyone can do something. Sponsored by the Heartland Beautification Committee
