1 VCW FTP Microsoft Outlook Add-In Configuration and Implementation After installation of the Microsoft Outlook Plug-In; the WS_FTP icon in the system tray needs to be configured with the following parameters in order to connect to the secure FTP server for the ability to send encrypted attachments in the Outlook client. Right Click on the icon in the system tray; Select Configuration Configuration for the FTP server follows below: Server: ftp.vcwhie.com Your assigned user name: first.last Your designated password: XXXXXXX

2 Click Advanced Options (on the main splash page): Should default to the following parameters: Server Port: 443 Checked check box to write a log use the default string unless it need to write to a specific location. Click on the Default Send Options (on the main splash page): Here you can designate a default password for your encrypted files (every encrypted file attachment uses the same password) or select a system generated password (each package password will be randomly generatedmore secure) for each encrypted file package.

3 Open a new message in your Outlook client; the installed Add-In for WS_FTP Attach File option is available. Create a new in your Outlook client; click on the WS-FTP Attach File add-on and the add-on opens up an additional area at the bottom of the message where you can add the file for encryption. Browse to add the specific file, supply a pre-designated password or a system generated password prior to sending the message. This password must be sent to the recipient in a separate in order to allow the recipient access to download the encrypted file.

4 By clicking Send the message with the encrypted attached file moves to the WS_FTP Outbox in the left hand pane. The connection is made to the server and the file leaves the outbox. The recipient of the receives the generic with the password information in order to download the encrypted file.

5 Access/Manage your secure FTP workspace through the web Login to the following url: The Login splash page appears: Enter your assigned username: first.last Enter your designated password: XXXXX Click Login Your secure file area appears. In this interface you are able to add/delete files and folders; upload new files, collaborate with others who have given you access to their secure file area. To allow others access to your workspace please call the VCW IT Support Help Desk for assistance:

6 Click on the Upload Files tab; browse and select files to be added to your workspace. Click the Upload tab and the files are now available in your workspace.

7 Web Upload/Download for Secure FTP via ThinClient and Ad-Hoc Login In order to upload a file through the web rather than a Microsoft Outlook client use the following url: Enter your assigned username: first.last Enter your designated password: XXXXX Click Login We are now at a secure web page on the FTP server that we can upload files for retrieval by a designated individual that will be password protected.

8 We add our intended recipient s address, subject, any notes needed, then browse our system and select the appropriate files, add the password to protect these files (whether we create a new password or it s system generated we will need to send the recipient the password in a separate in order to allow access to download the file). Click Send to complete. By clicking on the Send Files tab we can see the files were successfully sent. We can change some of the parameters as to the password protection of the files along with the expiration times of the downloads on the Options tab:

9 Our recipient receives the link via their box: The recipient clicks the link, at the login page and adds the password that was previously sent. Clicks Login

10 The credentials of the recipient have been validated and the download page opens for the requested file. Check the checkbox next to the file and select Download File. You are then prompted by your system to open or save the file from the FTP server. Select the most appropriate. When finished close the browser page for security.
