1 OS Upgrade Manual PC requirements for LG Mobile Support Tool: 1GHz or higher Pentium-compatible processor At least 256 MB of RAM (memory) Windows 2000 (SP4 or later) or Windows XP (SP1 or SP2), Windows Vista, or Windows 7 Administration rights on the PC for software installation High-speed Internet connection Preparation and Remarks: Fully charge the battery. Close any applications before proceeding with the update. Calling and messaging functions are not available during the update process Remove the microsd card. Please connect your USB cable directly to the PC. (Do not use a USB hub.) The handset is auto matically reset during this process. 7 8 The update takes approximately minutes. Do not disconnect the USB cable until the update is complete. Back Up Contacts to microsd Card Step 1: Your phone should already have a compatible microsd memory card inserted. On your phone, go to Contacts icon > Menu Key > Import/Export. Step 2: Select Export to SD card. When prompted, select OK. Your contacts will now be transferred to the SD card.

2 Prerequisites: Go to Settings > Applications > Development. Select USB Debugging > OK to turn it on. Step 1: Your phone should not be connected to your PC at this time. On your PC, go to and click Phone Software Update. Step 2: Download LG Mobile Support Tool to your PC.

3 Step 3: Click Install USB Driver. Select U.S. Cellular and then double-click LGUS740. Follow the prompts to install the driver.

4 Once the USB driver is installed, connect your phone to your PC with a USB cable. The tool will check the PC s connection with the phone. (If connection status is not progressing, please close and reopen LG Mobile Support Tool.)

5 Android 2.2 Froyo Operating System Step 4: Click Start Updating. The tool will analyze the phone environment, i.e., checking connection status with the phone. You will see the following window: Your phone will now begin downloading the update.

6 Your phone will then begin to install the update. Do not disconnect the USB cable. If your phone s user memory has less than 23 MB of free space, your upgrade will stop, and you will see the following error message: If your phone does not have enough space, you will need to uninstall unwanted applications or, if permitted, move applications to your microsd card. Otherwise, the upgrade will begin as shown below:

7 Once the progress bar reaches 100%, the update is complete. You may now power on the phone. Restore Contacts from microsd Card Step 1: Your phone should already have a compatible microsd memory card with previously backed-up contacts inserted. On your phone, go to Contacts icon > Menu Key > Import/Export. Step 2: Select Import from SD card. If your microsd card has data from multiple accounts, you will be prompted to select the appropriate account. Step 3: Choose whether you want to import one, multiple, or all of your contacts at once. Tap OK to copy the contacts to your phone s internal memory. Thank you!
