1 Imptant Reminders f Pension Payments f If you receive payments from your 3M Pension Plan, please note the following: Your pension payment f January will be made on Friday, Jan. 2,. Remember, pension payments will be made on the first of each month. If the first of the month falls on a weekend holiday, direct deposits will be made on the next business day. F February, March, August and November, since the first day of these months fall on the weekend, your pension payments will be deposited to your account as follows: Monday, February 2; Monday, March 2; Monday, August 3; and Monday, November 2,. Your pension payments may change from 2014 due to: Tax withholding changes; and/ premium changes, if you have 3M Retiree Medical coverage (f non-medicare eligible retirees only) and/ Dental coverage. 2 3M Scholarship Application Deadlines Coming Soon Each year, 3M offers scholarships to eligible dependents of retirees and employees. Take advantage of this valuable 3M benefit and ease the costs of higher education f your family. See the infmation in the table below about the three types of scholarships 3M offers. To be eligible, applicants must be in high school college, under the age of 25 and dependents of active, regular full- and part-time U.S. employees, 3M retirees, employees receiving disability income from 3M. Each scholarship has additional requirements. The table below provides descriptions of each scholarship, including application deadlines. 3 General Employees Stock Purchase Plan: Tax Repting Reminder In 2014, if you have sold any stock purchased through the 3M General Employees Stock Purchase Plan (GESPP), you may experience what the Internal Revenue Service calls a disqualifying disposition. A disqualifying disposition results when shares are sold within two years of purchase. When this occurs, 3M is required to rept the difference between the fair market value at purchase and your option price as compensation on your W-2 in the year of disposition. In addition, you ll need to rept any gain loss on your tax return. Please consult your personal tax advis f me infmation on this issue. Sign Up by Jan. 2, f Your Electronic W-2 If you received 3M taxable wages in 2014 (f example, exercised a stock option received AIP/sales compensation), you can now receive your W-2 electronically.
