3 My house Reading a b 1 James, Emma and Luke are brothers and sister. They live in very different places. Look at photos of two of their homes. 1 Where do you think these homes are? 2 Which house would you like to live in? 2 Read the descriptions below and match the texts and the photos of the two homes. 1 I live in Oxford with my parents, in a small flat in the centre of town. It s in an old building but it s got a lift. It s on a quiet street about five minutes from the shops. It s got two bedrooms, my bedroom and my parents bedroom, a living room and a small kitchen. It s not very big and it hasn t got a garden but there is a lovely rooftop terrace. I spend most of my time in the living room watching TV or in my bedroom listening to music. 2 I live near Auckland, in a house in a small village on the coast, about twenty minutes in the car from my children s school. It s got a big garden with lots of trees and a tennis court. The house has got four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, a study and a kitchen. My bedroom has got an en suite bathroom and I can see the sea from the balcony. There s a double garage where we keep the car and our mountain bikes. Writing Ideal Homes catalogue 1 Look at the photo on the cover of the magazine. Read this description of an ideal home. This beautiful old house is in the historic centre of a fishing village in Greece. It s got beautiful gardens with superb views of the beach. There s a swimming pool and a jacuzzi in the gardens. Inside the house there s a sauna and a beautiful old fireplace in the living room. It s got three bedrooms, two bathrooms and two living rooms. There are big balconies in all of the bedrooms, with tables and chairs and lots of flowers and plants.
