Bags are available from 1 wide to as wide and as long as you need. All different types of material are available to preserve and display your products. Almost any color film is available in gauges from.5 (half mil) to 6 mil for most bags. Some applications need to have the ability to know when the bag was made and where it was packed in order to determine what went into the bag. Numbering the bags makes this possible. See stock section for details Hot Glue Adhesive Bags Self sealing mechanism that offers ease of use and high security features Tamper evident seal that must be cut or torn to be opened Printing is available up to 8 colors on two sides Custom manufactured item that can be made into almost any size Often used on security and evidence bags in conjuction with consecutive numbers Varying glue and release liner widths available depending on the application HANGHOLES A variety of hangholes are available to best fit your particular need. Please specify when ordering or ask for a suggestion. Hangholes can be placed anywhere on the bag. They are commomly placed 3/8 from the open or closed end depending on loading methods. Tape Bags Tape Release liner is peeled off 1.5 lip to expose the tape. The lip is folded over to seal the tape and close the bag. No heat sealer or twist tie is needed to close the bag Ideal for mailing promotional materials and bagging shirts, socks etc. Reclosable or Permanent (also referred to as tamper evident tape) tape available. Tape can be placed on lip of bag or body of bag. Standard placement is on the lip. Most custom options available including printing up to 6 colors. 6 CUSTOM ZIPLOCKS NY ph fax Ziplock / Reclosable Bags Custom sizes for ziplock bags If there is not a stock size that fits your needs create a custom size just for you. We can manufacture Zipper style bags in a variety of widths and lengths. Widths starting at 2 inches with a maximum widths of 36 inches, and lengths beginning at 3 inches to 46 inches long. Besides custom sizes many other options are available on zipper style bags. See below Film Types for ziplock bags Basic Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) is the most common film used in manufacturing zipper style bags Additives like EVA, UVI or Pink Anti Stat can be added to the LDPE as custom options. Custom zipper style bags can also be manufactured from colored LDPE. Standard opaque and tinted colors available. Natural High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and Polypropylene are also available film types to customize your zipper style bags. Printing for ziplock bags Customize your zipper style bag with your logo, address, phone number, fax or anything you want to be printed on your bag. Clear View Bag has the capabilities to print from 1 to 6 colors. Custom printing can be as simple as a line drawing, complex as a process print or anything in between. Ziplock length is always measured from the ziplock down to the bottom 4 Area above zip Width Length Custom Hang Holes and Vents for ziplock bags Hang holes and vents come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Choose one that fits your needs Hang holes can be placed above the zipper either centered or offset. For extra strength the option of placing the Hang hole below the zipper is also available. A variety of vent sizes, styles and patterns are available on custom zipper style bags. Bottom load / Tamper Evident for ziplock bags (see diagram - next column) Less labor intensive when loading compared to a regular zipper style bag. Loading the bag from the bottom and heat-sealing the bag can save time and money compared to loading a conventional zipper style bag through the top Creates a tamper proof bag. Customer is assured they are receiving the correct count and the product has not been tampered with. Can be manufactured with a serration above the zipper for ease of opening. The paperwork is put in the pouch keeping it away from the zipper bag contents. Pouch can be made with a fold over flap When measuring ziplocks, the length is measure from the zipper to the bottom. When considering the width, it is necessary to allow for the ultrasonic weld that reduces the bag at the opening by.25. See diagram - next column. Solvent based inks emit Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) while WBI do not. Solvent based inks force companies to use more energy to run incinerators to burn VOC s. WBI are a much better environmental choice and have no negative aesthetic consequences on overall appearance. UPC Codes Clear View Bag prints a variety of UPC codes in a variety of sizes. We utilize Stratix ( verifying equipment to ensure the integrity of the bar code. Bar codes are printed in a variety of colors and sizes. The UCC (Uniform Code Council) recommends a white block behind a black bar code at 120% magnification printed in the machine direction to ensure a readable code. Given the UPC number desired, Clear View Bag can also make bar code plates at a fee of $50 per code. Standard Lead-times Standard lead-times are 4 weeks on repeat orders and 5 weeks on new orders. For new orders, the extra week lead-time accounts for the time it takes to get usable artwork, produce a proof to get approved and then get a signed approval. Due to potential seasonal pressures and plant shutdowns, these leadtimes may vary. Please contact a service representative if a specific date is needed. Sure date requirements must be discussed and approved before a firm commitment can be made. For non-sure date orders, order acknowledgements confirm the approximate ship date. All efforts are made to maintain these dates. Slitter/Rewinder Slitter is used many times with printed rollstock orders We can slit and rewind material as narrow as 2 and rewind up to 24 OD rolls. The slitter is 65 wide. Most types of foil, paper or plastic can be slit. Printing multiple repeats at once and then slitting is a tremendous cost advantage for many printed sheeting applications. Naturally clear film. Colored films in tints and opaques are available. LDPE can be blended with other films or additives to create or improve certain characteristics of the film. See below for popular examples. Ethyl Vinyl Acetate (abbreviated EVA). When added to LDPE, EVA softens the film for freezer applications. Lowers sealing temperatures making it better for form fill and seal applications. Overall, EVA adds toughness to the film. Metalocene. An additive that makes LDPE super tough. Ideal for applications where heavy weight is being put into the bag. Ultra Violet Inhibitors (abbreviated UVI). Keeps the film from breaking down in direct sun. Used where finished product is to be stored outside Antistatic Additive. Helps protect items being packaged against static charges. Used to package electronic devices, computer parts and anything you need to keep static free. Comes in a pink tint for easy identification. Low slip. Actually is the lack of an additive. Low slip bags have a rougher texture than a regular poly bag so they don t slide off of each other while being stacked on a pallet. Great for bagging sand or mulch. Insta-tear film. A blend of films that allows the finished package to be torn open easily without needing a serration or the use of scissors. Used mostly in medical packaging. Mailer film. (coextruded) White on the outside Grey on the inside. Two films sandwiched together to create a tough non see through package perfect to send through the mail, UPS or FEDEX. Postal approved film. A tough clear blend of film that is United States Postal Approved. Polypropylene. (Cast) Crystal clear film. Great for retail packaging.. Archival grade, a must for long-term storage of important documents and photographs. Cast polypropylene is a better moisture and vapor barrier than LDPE making it a better film to use for packaging certain types of foods and candies. Cast polypropylene can be used for packaging medical items that need to be heat sterilized Shrink Film A blend of LDPE that can be made in a variety of formulations in order to meet the demands of the end use. Often used in conjunction with heat tunnels or heat guns to allow the shrink film to shrink around the product Non-Scratch film Modified low-density film to not allow damage to contents that are easily scratched by regular film (ex polished plastics, glass and shiny metals). Linear Low Density Polyethylene (abbreviated LLDPE ) A tougher version of Low Density Polyethylene. Usually blended with LDPE to create a stronger film that is more tear resistant. Widely used in the manufacturing of pallet covers and can liners. Polypropylene film (Oriented) Great moisture, vapor barrier film. Crystal clear film. Used in form fill and seal applications. High Density Polyethylene (abbreviated HDPE) Super tough film. Frosty in appearance with a crinkly feel. High Density film is a good moisture, vapor and grease barrier. Naturally a non-scratch film. HDPE can be used in heat sterilization. Like LDPE, HDPE can be blended with other films or additives to create or improve certain characteristics of the film Barrier vs. Non-barrier Film Flexible packaging comes in a wide variety of forms. Different film types can be glued or laminated together to provide different characteristics to better preserve, protect and/or provide a better appearance to the product being packaged. To do this you must measure the diameter of the receptacle and multiply that number by To find the width of bag you need, just divide the circumference in half. To determine the length of bag required, you must take 1/2 of your diameter (A) and add it to your height (B). After doing this add about 4 for overhang. This should give you enough bag to fit your receptacle. Square Receptacles: To find the width of the bag required to fit your receptacle, you must first determine its circumference. To do this simply measure all four sides and add them together. After adding these figures together, divide them in half and this gives you the width of the bag needed. To determine the length of the bag required, divide the smallest of your 4 sides (A) in half and add this number to your height (B). After doing this, add about 4 for overhang. 20 Clear View Bag Co., Inc. was founded in 1960, in a small town called Nassau. The founder, Donald Strevell, bought a small cellophane machine in hopes of generating some income, in addition to what he earned as a salesman. He based his small operation on service to the customer and soon he found the need to concentrate on his new enterprise full-time. His hard work over the years allowed the business to grow and flourish. In 1970, the present ownership took control of the family business and a second company called Printfilm, Ltd. was formed. Printfilm distributed stock poly liners, recloseable bags, construction film and heat sealers. In 1981 yet another company was added. The formation of Albany Printing Plate Company allowed us to have in house rubber plate making facilities for our printed business. In March of 1997, the Thomasville, North Carolina, facility was added to provide a Southeastern manufacturing and distribution point. Our two locations pictured here, seem a far cry from the barn in Nassau that Clear View operated from 50 years ago. We currently employ 110 full time workers who operate 40 bag machines, six printing presses and a slitter rewinder, over two shifts in two locations.
