Its purpose is to let you know about what substance abuse services and resources are available in Montgomery County. There are Alateen meetings all around the Miami Valley. See Website or call for a list of meeting locations. Anyone who is troubled by or whose life has been affected by someone else s drinking. Daybreak 605 South Patterson Boulevard 24 Hour Crisis Hotline Dayton, OH Toll Free: (877) (937) Local: (937) Website>> Daybreak changes lives and creates new futures for homeless, at-risk, and troubled youth ages 10 to 24 in the Dayton region. Daybreak serves youth and young adults in crisis through emergency shelter, transitional housing, street outreach, and employment services. Daybreak is the region s only housing program designed to move homeless youth ages 18 to 24 out of homelessness, poverty, under-education, and crisis and into housing, financial independence, educational achievement, and self-sufficiency. 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Youth may reach Daybreak via the 24-hour crisis hotline. 1.1 Child and Adolescent

4 Emergency Shelter any troubled, at-risk or homeless youth between the ages of 10 and 19 are eligible to stay in the emergency shelter unless they have a known history of repeated or extreme violence or sexual offenses. Street Outreach any troubled, at-risk or homeless youth up to age 24 may visit the Street Outreach Center for food, necessities and assistance in finding a safe play to live. Transitional Housing Must be referred by the Daybreak s emergency shelter, street outreach program, or another Montgomery County approved emergency shelter. Day-Mont Behavioral Health Care, Inc. Main Office 1520 Germantown Street Dayton, OH (937) Website>> Children & Adolescent Outpatient : Provides counseling and community supportive services to both children and their families who experience trauma, behavioral, mental, emotional, and/or substance abuse issues related to their everyday living. may include individual/family counseling, case management, individual counseling, and pharmacologic management. Eastway Behavioral Healthcare: Northcutt Residential Treatment Center 4950 Northcutt Place Dayton, OH (937) Website>> Initial assessment; individual treatment plan; regular individual, family, and group therapy sessions along with individual and group chemical dependency counseling, if needed; psychiatric and nursing services; a structured program that includes recreation, outdoor activities, and socialization; and on-site educational services. 1.2 Child and Adolescent

5 Call for information. Elementary school-aged boys who are victims of trauma (physical, sexual, or emotional abuse; neglect; witnessed the abuse of family members, etc.). Eastway Behavioral Healthcare: Webster Street Academy and Family Center 1110 Webster Street Dayton, OH (937) Website>> Licensed as a mental health program, the Webster Street Academy and Family Center provides mental health needs assessments, treatment recommendations, and a plan that addresses these identified needs; educational curriculum; social skills training; coping skills training; community psychiatric supportive treatment; and psychiatric services. Students attending the Webster Street Academy remain actively enrolled in their current school, are generally able to participate in after school functions, and are awarded credit for the completion of academic work with the ultimate goal being the student's successful re-integration to their home school. Children ages Montgomery County Juvenile Court: 10 & Under Program 380 West Second Street Dayton, OH (937) Website>> A specialized intervention/prevention program designed to keep non-adjudicated youth under the age of ten from penetrating further into the juvenile justice system. The program addresses dependency, abuse, and neglect issues; delinquent and unruly behaviors; and mental health issues. include: counseling, anger management, specialized diagnostic assessments, and case management. 1.3 Child and Adolescent

Youth ages ten and younger who have been referred to Juvenile Court for allegedly being unruly or having committed serious felony offenses are eligible to participate. Youth without charges (walk-ins) can also be served by the program. Military and Veterans Crisis Line (800) Press "1" Text: Website>> The Military and Veterans Crisis Line connects Service members (active duty, Reserve, and Guard) and Veterans (including their families and friends) in crisis with qualified, caring Department of Veterans Affairs responders through a confidential, toll-free hotline; online chat; or text. Support for deaf and hard of hearing individuals is available. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Samaritan Behavioral Health Inc.: CrisisCare Elizabeth Place 601 S. Edwin C. Moses Blvd. Dayton, OH (937) Website>> Emergency intervention and assessment services include: 24-hour suicide prevention and crisis counseling telephone hotline, 24-hour supportive telephone counseling service, evaluation of crisis needs, emergency walk-in care, prehospital screening, crisis counseling, emergency psychiatric care/medication, alcohol/drug assessments, Severely Mentally Disabled (SMD) assessments, care coordination, and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) services for opioid addiction. 2.1 Crisis Intervention

8 24 hours a day / 7 days a week. Often, access for Severe Mental Health and Alcohol/Drug Diagnostic Assessments is available Monday through Friday. CrisisCare provides services to any adult or youth in Montgomery County who needs crisis services or evaluation for hospitalization. 2.2 Crisis Intervention

Main Office Focus Care 1520 Germantown Street 8145 North Main Street Dayton, OH Clayton, OH (937) (937) Website>> Assertive Community Treatment (ACT): Provides an intensive team-based, person centered recovery approach. ACT is for individuals who have the most serious symptoms of severe mental illness/ substance abuse and who, consequently, have the greatest difficulty with basic daily activities. CAMI: Chemically Addicted Mental Illness services. The care is 16 to 18 weeks with weekly follow up sessions designed to provide long term recovery support. The interventions outlined in the treatment plan are oriented towards recover, abstinence, maintenance, and stabilization. Persons receive individual and group counseling related to substance abuse and mental illness, in addition to receiving Med somatic (psychiatric medication) services from a physician, if needed. 10 Community psychiatric support treatment, individual and group therapy, substance abuse services, primary care, and on-site pharmacy. Call for information. Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment (IDDT) for adults battling both a severe and persistent mental illness and a significant issue with alcohol and/or drugs. Adults with no way to pay for services must be Montgomery County residents. Adults with Medicaid do not need to be Montgomery County residents. Miami Valley Hospital Behavioral Dual-Diagnosis Program One Elizabeth Place East Medical Plaza, 1st Floor 627 Edwin C. Moses Boulevard Dayton, OH (937) Website>> A dual-diagnosis treatment program is in place for people who have both chemical dependency issues and a cooccurring mental health diagnosis. Examples are bipolar disorder and alcohol abuse, or major depression and marijuana dependency. The purpose of the program is to address both components at the same time. Call for information. 11 Multiple therapeutic interventions that promote mental health stabilization and support for their substance use disorders, and development of harm reduction skills. Individuals are involved in a minimum of 30 hours of services, including psychiatric services, individual and group counseling. The individual is also involved in social activities to help foster a development of leisure skills that do not involve the use of alcohol and drugs. Individuals will stay at NOVA s Heid Avenue facility for approximately 28 days. Call for information. Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) is for individuals with a primary serious mental health disorder, as well as a serious substance dependence disorder. Box 282 Dayton, OH (937) Website>> A support group to help family, friends, and young people, usually teenagers, recover from the effects of someone else s drinking. There are Al-Anon and Alateen meetings all around the Miami Valley. Meetings are held every day of the week with daytime and evening choices. See Website or call for a list of meeting locations. Anyone who is troubled by someone s drinking, grew up with a problem drinker, or whose life has been affected by someone else s drinking. Families of Addicts (FOA) Support Group Life Enrichment Center 425 North Findlay Street Dayton, OH (937) (Lori Erion - Founder) Website>> A grass-roots recovery support group for families and friends of addicts, which includes the addicts themselves if they so desire. FOA works to reduce the stigma of addiction, ensure availability of adequate treatment and recovery support services, as well as to influence public opinion and policy regarding the value of recovery. Network of family engagement advocacy groups and individuals seek to end the crisis of substance abuse, specifically prescription medication and opiate abuse, in all Ohio communities. The G.A.P. Network can provide information, education, advocacy, networking, training and support to make your local efforts more effective. Know! drug prevention and awareness program empowers parents of middle school students to raise their children substance free. Sign up for Know! Parent Tips. Ohio Youth Led Prevention Network is a joint-venture between the Drug Free Action Alliance and the Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction. Together, they build and expand partnerships between youth-led substance abuse prevention programs that develop and strengthen abuse prevention efforts at the state and local levels. Buzzkill is a program to help colleges educate their students on the responsibilities of social hosting and the deterrence of underage drinking. Parents Who Host, Lose the Most is a public awareness campaign to educate parents about the health and safety risks of serving alcohol at teen parties. This program encourages parents and the ENTIRE community to send a unified message that teen alcohol consumption is unhealthy, unsafe and unacceptable. Drug Free 24/7 is a social marketing campaign of prevention messages for communities, schools, and organizations that promote drug-free lifestyles and facilitate the expectation of living drug free 24/7. They translate the science of teen drug use and addiction for families, providing parents with direct support to prevent and cope with teen drug and alcohol abuse. The Parents Toll-Free Helpline ( ) is a nationwide support service that offers assistance to parents and other primary caregivers of children who want to talk to someone about their child s drug use and drinking. A specialist will propose a course of action which may be to prevent further use, intervene in their child s behavior, find 5.3 Informational Resources

Requires Veterans to remain in the Dayton VAMC Domiciliary residential care facility. Dual Diagnosis Treatment Program (SARRTP): A domiciliary residential program (up to 2 months) designed to assist Veterans who are experiencing substance use disorders difficulties along with other diagnosed mental health problems. Opiate Treatment Program (OTP): An outpatient methadone maintenance/treatment program. Outpatient Care: Includes an assessment of medical/psychosocial needs, individual/group counseling, and educational sessions. 6.1 Military and Veterans

21 Aftercare: A support service (after completion of residential / outpatient care) for individuals pursuing a sober lifestyle. Ambulatory Detox Treatment: Provides uncomplicated detoxification treatment from alcohol or other substances. Monday Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Opiate Treatment Program: Monday Friday: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday, Sunday: 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Call for information. Wright Patterson Air Force Base Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment Program (ADAPT) 307 Red Bud Lane, Building 830 T1 Dayton, OH (937) Website>> Level One outpatient treatment program. include: substance abuse assessments; individual, group and family treatment; and substance abuse prevention and education. Substance Abuse Treatment (Group/Individual) services are provided to individuals (TRICARE beneficiaries) who are addressing substance abuse or dependency issues. Referrals for those needing a higher level of substance abuse care will also be provided. Heroin Helpline (937) Website>> Concerned family members, friends, co-workers and people combating substance abuse can call to talk to an expert from the Montgomery County Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health (ADAMHS) about the next steps toward recovery. 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Determined at the provider level. Samaritan Behavioral Health Inc.: Project DAWN (Death Avoidance With Naloxone) Elizabeth Place 601 S. Edwin C. Moses Blvd. Dayton, OH (937) (CrisisCare) Website>> A community-based drug overdose education and naloxone distribution program. DAWN kits are available to friends and family members of anyone in Montgomery County who either regularly takes Opioid-based medication (such as Hydrocodone, Fentanyl, Tramadol, or Morphine) or uses heroin. Free classes and DAWN kits are available on Wednesdays at noon at the CrisisCare offices. Training for groups of 10 or more may be scheduled. ANEW: Outpatient alcohol and other drug program. Meets the individual where they are in their stage of recovery to develop a personalized plan for recovery from addiction. This is a 16-week program followed by extended weekly followup services. are provided primarily in group format; however, individuals may also receive individual/family counseling, case management, drug screenings, and pharmacotherapy.
